Speak Easy
Who: Open to invited guests. Please tag your characters.
What: Dean's birthday, booze, bad behaviour?
Where: Leo Dall's Speakeasy (aka The Roost)
When: Monday 24th August, 6.30pm onwards
Rating: I'm gonna put an NSFW warning for language on this from the get-go due to the high amounts of alcohol being consumed.

With a little help from Ron, George, Susan and a lot of help from Dominic, everything was ready. Invited guests would give the password at Weasley's Wizard Wheezes and be guided towards the floo fire where they'd be offered a portkey disguised as a standard powder container. The portkey would whisk them to the Roost - charmed to look like a prohibition bar. The lack of doors or windows made the room feel genuinely secret, and the extra effort of the portkeys had been totally worth it in Seamus's mind. Bowls of the jewel-toned two-hit fig punch rested on the bar and the tables for easy access, but if that didn't appeal there was also a cocktail list of 1920s cocktails to choose from. Unsurprisingly, the music was 1920s jazz and Dominic had set a sound barrier between the two halves of the room so that neither became uncomfortably loud.

Dominic smiled as Dennis turned and revealed a little more of his outfit. He was enjoying all the 1920s costumes, and was glad he'd brought his camera along, he thought he'd get some good shots out of tonight. "Thank you," he said. "A few of them are mine." He pointed at a few, mostly of interesting-looking houses or fixtures in muggle London, developed in black-and-white but still with the magical movement. They weren't especially 1920s subjects, but he hadn't thought many people would look closely enough to notice that.

"Nice costume," he said, eyeing Dennis approvingly. "I see we both went with the waistcoat option.

"You're welcome," Dennis replied, still smiling brightly. He looked more closely at the photographs that Dominic pointed out, and found them to be quite good. "I love the juxtaposition between the mundane nature of the shots and the fact that you still developed them to move."

He laughed slightly and lifted his arms and spun around for Dominic to see. "I thought it seemed appropriate. You're looking extremely dapper yourself."

With a slight snort of laughter, Dominic nodded. "Well, I'm glad you like it. I spent entirely too long going back and forth over the decision. I wanted to avoid people, because modern clothes would ruin the effect, but without them... I wasn't sure how much movement there was to capture. Thank god it was a windy day, because I didn't want to spend hours looking for birds or squirrels or what have you." The movement in most of the photographs was subtle, leaves silently rustling, curtains twitching.

Turning a little circle to show off his outfit, Dominic smiled. "Thanks. Have you tried a cocktail yet?"
