Gobstones & Greg
Who: Greg and open
What: Greg's killing time
Where: The Den
When: Monday 17th August, 6.15pm
Rating: SFW

Since Theo had brought Von into Greg's life, a lot of things had changed. Instead of being near-perpetually late, Greg actually arrived places on time, or even early. Tonight, for example, he'd arrived at the Den for Gobstones a full fifteen minutes ahead of schedule. He sat down at one of the game tables with his favoured set of traditional gobstones and pulled out his journal. He scratched out a reply to Astoria's entry, hoping she would reply to confirm when he was at home again so he could tell Von to remind him to send Astoria a present.

That done, there was little else that interested him that he hadn't already replied to. He closed the small book and looked around the room, looking out for other gobstones players who might want to get started before things officially kicked off.

Blaise hadn't been to the club at Finnigan's in about a month. Before his promotion being there had been a requirement of his job and while he still oversaw things from the professional stand point he didn't have to be as hands on anymore. Tonight though he simply wanted to play. He wanted to see if the new momentum spells gave an unfair advantage or simply added to the skill of the player.

When he entered the room he pulled his mock up set out from under his arm and walked over to a side table to look over the set. He knew which was the prototype and which was it's mirror. He wasn't going to share until the end that he was playing with it as he wanted an unbiased reaction to his set and the game play.

"Goyle, it's been awhile," Blaise acknowledged his friend upon site. "How has life treated you lately?" It would be nice to hear about someone's life other than his mothers.

Greg turned his head at his name and smiled. "Zabini." He had noticed Blaise's absence the last few weeks, and was pleased to see him back. "Good," he answered, catching himself before he could start talking about his new job with Romilda. He wasn't very good at lying, and on the whole it was just easier not to talk. She was still easing him in to what his eventual duties would be, and he was keeping his job with the Weasleys - for now. "I'm looking forward to Quidditch."

Greg stood up, moving to hover near Blaise. He left his possessions on his table, in case he needed to return to it - he didn't want anyone else thinking they could just sit down there. "How are you?"

"Most definitely," Blaise nodded. One of the perks of working for the department he worked for was free entrance into Quidditch matches. He didn't take advantage of it as often as he could, but he did try his best to get to the Bats games whenever possible. "Who do you think will step up their game this coming season?"

As Greg made his way over Blaise took inventory of the room and how they ought to set the matches up for the evening. "Glad to be back to my routine," he stated quite honestly. He hadn't realized how draining dealing with his mother had been, but now that she'd returned he wished he could separate from her again.

"I hope the Arrows win," Greg said immediately. It probably went without needing to be said. He'd been an Arrows fan since before Blaise had ever met him, and had made no secret of his allegiance - especially since Marcus started to fly with them. "Tutshill might be interesting." Greg hadn't actually bothered to look into getting tickets yet, but he certainly would do before the season really geared up. If only because finals tickets were expensive and he didn't want to risk not seeing his team in the (unpleasant) event they were kicked out early.

Greg nodded, well able to understand the relief of falling back into a routine. His own was still adjusting to new tasks and new hours. "That's good to hear," he said. "How's work?"
