Adrian couldn't hide his smile when she began rambling, especially considering the topic. She was so right. And when she had made her point, the light dawned on him like a sudden wave - she wanted him to look with her, not for them. "Oh Salazar," he breathed, "I'm an idiot." He smiled softly at her. "I thought..." He didn't know how to say it, "Well, it doesn't matter what I thought," he shakes his head.
Reaching over, he took her hands in his and said, "Of course, though I can't help but ask... With everything else going on on, all the changes you're making this year, might it be better to wait just a bit longer?" Adrian knew they both wanted more, and he'd been sure since he decided to tell her his family secrets that he wanted Alicia to be his wife someday, he had no question, but he knew it was too soon for both of them - all of them, considering the twins - to ask such a question. He also knew that when he did, he wanted them to have a home together and even all ready knew what and where he wanted that home to be. But if Alicia bought a new home now, that may throw his plans into chaos, and he abhorred chaos.
Of course, knowing all of that, he wanted Alicia - always - to do what was best for her and the twins, no matter his wishes.
