RP: Friday Night Lasagne
Who: Angelina, Alicia, Katie, Oliver, Liam and Isla [NPC], possibly Adrian later
What: An evening with lasagna has turned into a bit of a get-together
Where: Alicia’s house in Kensington
When: Friday August 7, 2005
Rating: SFW (there are kids there), though there may be some language (if/when the kids are out of earshot)

With Angelina living in the flat on the lower ground floor, and Katie on the third floor, the scene was all but set for one of the best Chaser-lines in Gryffindor history (in Alicia’s ever so humble opinion) to reunite on a regular basis. But… that wasn’t the case. Oh, they met, and there’d been dinners or a late night glass of wine, but never a real get-together. And by throwing in Oliver it only added to that reunion sort of feeling. Of course, there was the added bonus of Isla and Liam being there, but it had been their suggestion that they make lasagna, and then things had just started rolling from there.

“Alright, so…” Alicia said, as she put a copy of the recipe on the fridge. “Liam you…”

“Uhm…” Liam checked the ingredients list as Isla began nudging him so she could get a closer look too. “Celery! I do the celery!” he declared and earned himself growling sigh when rather than letting Isla take a look, he simply flung the fridge door open and started digging through the vegetable drawer.

“I’ll do the carrots,” Isla chimed in and for once was polite enough to thank her brother when he handed her the carrots.

Not long after, the kitchen was filling with the savoury aroma of lasagne sauce simmering on the stove and the three of them were gathered around the kitchen island, going over the lists both Angelina and Oliver had sent to them.

When the smell started wafting up from the floor below, Katie had a hard time not crashing the party downstairs. She could hear the giggles and didn't want to interrupt.

This didn't stop her from poking her head in the kitchen at 5:45. "Hello. May I come in?" Katie questioned the two kids rather than their mother. She adored Ali's twins.

At the same time as Katie was sticking her head into the kitchen Angelina, perpetually early as she was walking up the stairs from below, plate of fruit skewers in hand. That had the useful bonus of being healthy, tasty, and something that those who were allowed could dip into chocolate or something else that was banned from the diets of professional athletes.

She heard Katie's voice and grinned. It was a little mad, the fact they'd gone from living in three different countries to occupying the same house once more in the space of a few short months. Brilliant too. Portkeys were fantastic but nothing quite beat living within easy walking or apparating distance of your comrades in arms.

"Don't think it's allowed," she called as she reached the head of the stairs, voice loud to carry through to the kitchen entrance.

With Katie back in town the reunion of the Oliver's Gryffindor Quidditch Team was nearly complete. To say he was excited was an understatement, to the point he skipped his afternoon run to whip up a salad with cherry tomatoes, onions and balsamic vinaigrette. He lived a little over a mile from Alicia's home and often hopped on the tube to see her.

A quick walk from the tube stop and use of the spare key, the annoyingly punctual Oliver walked through the front door. "Hey guys!" His loud voice boomed out.

Alicia had just checked on the lasagne when seemingly, with the snap of the fingers, people started appearing and the twins started cheering. “Auntie Katie! Auntie Angie! Unca Ollie!” and Just like that, Alicia was left to her own devices when it came to getting dinner ready.

“Come in! Come in!” She called with a chuckle, waving everybody into the kitchen. “We still need to set the table, and whoever does, gets to choose if we eat in the kitchen or the dining room.” Levitating the lasagne from the oven to the counter, she went over and greeted each of her friends as they came in.

Katie couldn't help but laugh with the kids. They were getting so big! She, too, was very excited to have nearly all her team together. It had been years since something like that had taken place. Of course, a quiet spot in her mind was surprised and thrilled to see Oliver.

"I'll help set the table. Which room has the most space? That would be a better option." Katie said, managing to wrap the kids in a quick hug with their running around. "Do you need anything else done?"

"Dining room's bigger," Angie said knowledgeably, indicating with a thumb over her shoulder as she came up behind Katie. "Both are lovely," she added, smiling at Ali. She set the plate down on the counter for later and sniffed the air approvingly. She hugged Katie as she passed, squeezing for a second.

She also managed to grab a quick hug from both of the twins, albeit separately, in their excited dashing around between all the guests.

"Hey, I hope your spare key only opens Ali's door and not mine too," she teased Oliver and leaned up and gave him a kiss on the cheek, which left a trace of red lipstick where she'd forgotten to properly seal it with a spell. "Oops, might want to wipe that," she said before whipping out her wand to correct the mistake.

“Dining room it is, then,” Alicia agreed, and gave first Katie, then Angelina a one armed hug, careful not to get any potential spills on her apron smeared on them. When she reached Oliver, she looked at him for a moment, checking his eyes to see how focused they were and getting to see for herself how alright he truly was. Well, he was at least mostly there, but there was something new in his eyes that she couldn’t put her finger on. The tilt of head had her chuckling because she knew what was coming. “I know, I know,” she said, holding up her hands in surrender, “you’re alright. At least for tonight.” With a small wink, she gave him a hug too, and then turned to her children.

“You two are in charge of the table. Hop to it!”

And off they went, taking Oliver along with them, while Alicia took a look at what Angelina and Oliver had brought along. “This looks delicious,” she smiled at them and then nodded towards the refrigerator. “We need something to drink and then everything on the counter is, well, for mixing and matching meals that meets everybody’s needs, and don’t worry, Angie; only you and I have keys to open your door. But Katie’s door…” her voice trailed off. Well, it wouldn’t be surprising if anything happened there. After all, it had in the past, and the only objection she would have to that, would be if they woke up the twins on their way upstairs.

With the twins taking charge of the table with Oliver's help, Katie sought to the drinks. She grabbed water glasses unsure if Ali wanted wine.

While Katie had learned about diets during her training here in Britain, it was never utilized in Australia. The teams had their own separate dietician that didn't mind observation, but Katie never interfered. She knew guidelines about it. That would be the most difficult part of joining a team here.

"What about Katie's door?" She inquired, raising an eyebrow at the pair.

"Well, apparently Ollie hasn't got a key to unlock it," she said, shrugging, "but other than that I'm not sure."

She could hear the rise and fall of voices as the twins and Oliver set the table in the next room and investigated the food on the worktop. "This all looks excellent," she said. "Thanks for getting the team back together again. It's been way too long." Although they'd all seen each other over the years meetups had been sporadic thanks to their busy lives.

Suddenly she had a thought grabbed for her neck before patting her pockets and swearing quietly. It wasn't particularly bad, or loud enough to be heard beyond the kitchen, but she still shot a guilty glance towards the dining room. "Sorry. Forgot my camera. And we deserve pictures now we're all living in the same country again," she explained. "I'll be right back," she said, and disappeared quickly back the way she'd come. Luckily it would be easy to retrieve.

”Oh, Ollie has a key for it,” Alicia said with a smirk and a shrug. “Katie’s floor doesn’t lock off like yours does, so…” She gestured to Oliver in the next room; he’d had key since… well, she wasn’t really sure when his copy of the key had been made, but she didn’t recall doing it.

Coming up next to Angelina she looked over the food they had managed to make. “Well, with two people on different diets, two children, and two who can eat what they want when they want, it’s bound to be varied.” She gave Angelina a playful nudge with her hip before she grinned and nodded. “Ooh, yes! Pictures.”

Oliver loved Alicia's children as though they were his own; he doted on them, and often, though sometimes encouraging bad habits. Today's bad habit came in the form of Oliver bewitching the plates to hover over the twins' heads and have them jump for them ('first to catch and set the most plates wins!'). He tried to keep the twins from becoming too excited else they'd shout and draw attention from Alicia.

"Isla, shh." He tried to shush the girl while giving her a high five. "Don't want to ruin the fun. Right, then. I want you both to set the spoons on the table going right to left, and Liam you set the forks from left to right. Who ever finishes first wins! Let's go!" He clapped his hands, setting the two children scurrying off and bumping into eachother.

Katie's ears perked up in response to what Angie had said "Pictures? Sounds fun." She carried the drinking glasses into the dining room, careful to avoid the kids running around with utensils and plates. Oliver sure knew how to keep them entertained.

"Anyone sitting in any particular spot?" Katie only asked because she knew she had to sit on an end due to being left handed and bumping elbows wasn't fun. She didn't have to, but it was preferred.

In the time it took to retrieve her camera from its place on the shelf in the sitting room Angie also had the need to thwart an escape attempt by Smudge. Bless her but the cat was tenacious. Angie jogged back up the stairs again with camera in hand, cat still safely on the other side of the locked door.

As she came to the dinning room she grinned at what appeared to be some form of organised chaos and immediately poked her camera into life to get some shots of the racing twins, Ollie's benevolent overseeing, and Katie waiting to set up glasses that were probably not the right thing to give to the little scamps in charge of cutlery. She took a few photos and then settled the camera back around her neck. "I don't think so, although I assume you get an end or corner so nobody gets jabbed in the side by a stray elbow," she said. That lesson had been learned back at Hogwarts after one too many jostled sides at mealtimes. "Best ask Ali though," she added.

”Sit anywhere you want,” Alicia said as she came into the dining room and without even blinking at the chaos around her, she grabbed the utensils from first Isla and then Liam as they came rushing by her. “No running with the silverware,” she reminded them, casting a glance at Oliver to let him know that he was included in that admonishment. “And go wash your hands before you eat.” As the twins scampered off to the kitchen to do just that, Alicia placed the lasagne on the table, and levitated the rest of the bowls in from the kitchen.

“Alright, well, if anything’s missing,” she said, looking over the table, “you all know where to find it.”

A subtle pout appeared on Oliver's lips and his head dropped ever-so-slightly, not unlike a dog who had been scolded. "Looks great, Ali." Oliver smiled, moving to the chair on the left side of the table next to Isla's drinking glass. "We ready then?"
