Rolf didn't say anything immediately when she came in, but his arms wrapped around her readily and he curled into her, letting out a big sigh once he was in her arms. "It's really stupid," he said, feeling really stupid for letting it get to him after all this time. Of course his parents were occasionally in town without him knowing about it. Just this time he happened to overhear something he shouldn't.
He sighed again, his long fingers finding the hem of her shirt and playing with it mostly because it gave his hands something to do. "I dropped off those papers for Grandfather and I overheard my mother on the floo," he admitted after a long moment. "She's apparently going to be in town for a couple of days, and wasn't about to tell me." Or wish him a happy birthday, though he had never expected that from his parents -- his grandparents had sent him birthday wishes, as had all but his eldest sibling, and the family he'd made for himself here had as well. And that was enough for him.
Except that being ignored still somehow hurt. "Like I said, it's really stupid."
