Re: Return Memo - Sent Monday afternoon
No worries. Does everyone good to get away from the madhouse every now and then.
Talked to my partners at Blue bottle. If you do decide to pursue racing, we can't pay you to fly or you'd lose your amateur status, and no offense, but you're not ready to run against the pros. We can, however, pick up your travel expenses and race fees as sponsors if you run and promote Bluebottle Brooms. Even if you'd just be a weekend racer like I am.
No need to feel constraints to win at any cost, though. What we're most interested in from you would be a series of articles on learning to fly, learning to race, racing, and flying on a Bluebottle C-Class. I've a racing friend who writes for Witch Weekly who has agreed to help you with editing and submissions until you hit your stride. Anything you'd make off publication would be yours, of course.
I see the possibility of several good things here: Examining the traditions of flight instruction that had a natural like you out of school thinking she couldn't fly, attaching some celebrity to your name and taking a poke at the Ministry so they can never treat you like they did before, get some good publicity for Bluebottle, and give you an excuse to go out racing as much as possible.
