Alicia Spinnet-Pucey ([info]_alicia_) wrote in [info]finnigans_rpg,
Alicia nodded, encouraging the other witch to continue with the bluntness and lack of subtlety she had just warned her about, and as she kept her eyes on the other witch’s she saw a glint that she recognized from many of her friends. And her realization that she was sitting with a Gryffindor that she remembered vaguely though couldn’t name, came at the same time as the witch revealed herself to be a werewolf.

“I’m sorry that happened to you,” she said earnestly, her mind flooding with everything she knew about lycanthropy, from Wolfsbane Potion to Professor Lupin to the physical traumas werewolves’ bodies went through during the full moon. Werewolves were frightening because there was no cure and because lunatics like Fenrir Greyback had terrorized the Wizarding World for years, but then there were people… wizards… werewolves like Professor Lupin, who had made a difference without her even knowing about his ailments. Though her memories were fuzzy, she knew he had fought near her during the Battle and in school he had taught her so much. Professor Lupin was the one she kept in mind now. “And I see your problem.”

Pouring herself a cup of coffee while she considered how best to help, she realized that she couldn’t just offer up everything without knowing exactly what it was they were looking for. “We can help you,” she said with a confident smile. “I’ll need some more information, of course, some of it I’ll have to take to Headmisstress McGonagall, and there will be certain conditions you’ll have to meet in order for this to happen, but we can help you.”
