RP: Team Bonding
Who: Angelina, Marcus, and Roger
What: Working on their moves and getting food
Where:Arrows Pitch, and then Finnigan's
When: Tuesday 7th July [backdated]
Rating: NSFW possible (language)

By the time quarter to four on Tuesday rolled around Angelina was sitting outside the players entrance to the Arrows stadium. Her broom was sitting next to her, she was already wearing practice gear, and her change of clothes for later along with her wash gear was in the bag on her other side. Her camera was also in there, and she could have wandered around the stadium looking for interesting quirks of the building to photograph but she didn't want to miss her team mates arriving so she had parked herself by the door. She could have gone inside of course but she wasn't totally familiar with the building yet and this way she was unlikely to miss them. She wasn't quite sure if they would be arriving together, although the fact they'd replied to her message with a joint owl had been pretty funny. If she was reading right Marcus was much more formal than Roger, which tallied with what she knew of them from school.

She'd never played with either of them of course, but she had experience playing against them both. She was sure their skills and playing styles had moved along since then, but she couldn't wait to see how they all worked together. Put together moves in ways that made sense for the three of them. She was blanking right now as to whether the chaser she was replacing in the first team was male or female. She hoped that neither of them had issues with playing with a woman. Most players didn't, but Flint had been a Slytherin and they could sometimes be a bit... off. Gwenog Jones and her massive metaphorical balls aside.

She fished her watch out of her pocket and glanced at it. It was running close to four now. It seemed like neither of the men were in the 'must be early to everything' team like she was, but it didn't bother her that much. It wasn't like there were coaches here to yell at them. It was just a getting-to-know-you type arrangement.

Roger snorted at Marcus, but subsided to listen to his new teammate. "That makes sense actually," he said with a nod. "I hear New Zealand is amazing. Plus the newest Chaser for the Arrows would definitely be able to drum up some business, wouldn't you say babe?"

He rolled his eyes at her mock flirtation and stuck his tongue out at her. "Now now, none of that, I'm a one man (or woman) man." He laughed along with her, already deciding that they'd definitely get on like a house on fire. Possibly even a whole city block on fire. "That sounds much more fun than boring posed shots though. I always prefer candid shots with wizarding photographs. I think posed shots work better with non-moving forms.

"You bet your arse I am," he said with a lascivious wink at both her and his no-doubt slightly scandalised boyfriend.

He grinned as he watched her take off and quickly jumped onto his own broom, hurtling into the sky and performing a series of hair-raising somersaults before turning sharply to look down at Marcus. "Well, are you coming up old man or staying down there on the ground?"

Marcus chuckled at the back and forth between Roger and Angelina, seeing already that the two of them would probably get along wonderfully. That might not necessarily be an indicator that they would all make a good team, but it certainly wouldn't hurt.

He rolled his eyes at Roger's ridiculousness, but didn't comment, already starting to turn his focus towards flying.

The 'old man' comment hit a little closer to home than Roger had probably intended - Marcus was well aware that his age was at the high end of professional players, especially for a sport that recruited teenagers and he was half a year away from turning thirty. "Just giving you a head start, Davies," he said with a grin before jumping on his own broom, shooting straight up into the air higher than either of them.

"I try not to trade on my name too much, but it can be a decent boost," she admitted. Of course the fact she'd started by helping former team mates out played into that policy a lot.

She wrinkled her nose at Roger's description of posed shots. "Yeah, a lot of them can be boring, but once in a while they're great if someone gets creative, like properly creative," she said. Not her thing, she preferred to capture what was already there most of the time.

Once they were all up in the air Angelina looked at the men's flying positions. Everybody's was a little different, and could sometimes tell you a little about their flying style, but she wasn't getting much from these two straight off. "Last names in the air?" she asked. That was pretty common in her experience, assuming names weren't more than a couple of syllables. "I respond to Johnson, John, and 'Son, just fine. Start using references to my gender and I'll respond in a match because I need to but we're going to have words," she warned. She was used to being in a team with a decent mix of men and women in the usual line up selections but she'd still experienced that from team mates and opposition players alike. She didn't think that either of them were likely to do that but you never knew.

She pushed herself higher to be on a level with Marcus, gesturing Roger closer. "So, do you have preferred formations? I'm used to changing up depending on opponents, but I've had some success with a Stacking approach as long as it's not used too often and well practiced," she said, referring to a move where Chasers flew in distinct layers and either dropped the ball down to the player below and then sped down to become the bottom layer, or the reverse, carefully throwing the ball upwards. It could be tricky to pull off, particularly the latter option, but it gave beaters a harder time and if you could manage to reverse direction mid-attack it really screwed with the opposing chasers too
