With a shake of his head, Marcus commented, "I thought I just said it wasn't a challenge. I mean, I could be wrong, but I'm relatively sure I remember those words coming out of my mouth not that long ago." His tone turned teasing at the end, with another hint of a smile.
Roger's groan sent a shiver that Marcus refused to identify down his spine, and the quiet traitorous corner of his brain committed it to memory while idly wondering how else to get the other man to make that noise again. Ignoring that part of himself, he offer Roger a small, almost shy smile as he said, "Thanks."
Unable to resist, Marcus smirked back at Roger as he said, "Some rules were meant to be broken." He actually felt rather relieved that Roger had made it so that the younger man couldn't see the flush that took over the tips of his ears at that comment, even if he didn't know what to make of it. Seeing as he was certain it wasn't for the reasons he might have privately liked it to be.
Marcus turned his head in Roger's direction, though his eyes stayed on the screen for a moment longer and then snapped over to the younger man. Following his example, he took some food for himself, eating in small careful bites that would ensure he didn't make a mess.
