Roger watched Marcus go slightly pink, and then strangely frown for a moment. Shaking his head and grinning, he pointed accusingly at the older man. "If you get weird and disappointed with yourself I will have no choice but to tackle you to the couch and hug you until you feel better. It works for Cho, Ben, and Ollie, so I'm sure it will work for you. Besides," he added, sniffing the air and smiling happily. "If it tastes anywhere near as good as it smells you won't have to worry about disappointing yourself."

"Silly way of thinking, if you ask me," Roger said shaking his head sadly. "You should be able to be who you are without who you are being..." He paused and shook his head for a moment. "That potion really has clicked in. What was I saying? Oh! There's a Dr Seuss quote: 'Be who you are and say what you feel, because those who mind don't matter, and those who matter don't mind' which was really popular in Ravenclaw." He smiled apologetically. "I like you are, anyway."

He was about tor respond when he was suddenly forcibly reminded of something that Ben had said when they'd watched the movies with the girls. He tried to bring his mirth under control until he looked at Marcus who looked deeply concerned, a fact that only brought a fresh wave of laugher. Eventually, gasping for breath and with tears streaming down his face, he managed to speak: "I'm so sorry Marc, just I suddenly remembered a thing that Ben said when we watched the Lord of the Rings. 'I'll be the Lord of your ring Mister Frodo' and I just," he took a shuddering breath. "I'm probably not helping my case with the whole speaking another language thing. But I'm totally willing to teach you Muggle pop-culture."

The grumpy face that Marcus made at being lumped with Moon nearly brought Roger down into fresh waves of mirth. Controlling himself, he merely smiled sweetly. "I forget you don't like him. But don't worry Marc, you two don't even compare to one another. You're my favourite."

He lifted his brows, and then nodded. It wasn't uncommon for the children of Pureblood families to be raised by house elves, in fact the children of most wealthy people were in fact raised by staff. "She must be an amazing elf, if she raised someone as amazing as you," he said evenly. He was a great supporter of Elfin rights, but he also recognised that the status quo wasn't Marcus' fault, and indeed that Marcus appeared to only be as functional as he was because of his nanny. "Different from my childhood," he said with a laugh. Most of my childhood I was playing with the other kids in the village, or being looked after by Mrs. Jones - my mum's friend. I'm still really close to her kids, but you know I can't tell them about anything."
