Marcus couldn't quite stop a snort of amused disbelief at that, since it seemed a little outside the realms of possibly, but he didn't argue the point.
If Marcus were a braver person, or even more like Roger himself, even he could see see a way to make a comment about come ons that would make sense, and get the message across that he was interested, that he wouldn't have any problems with this being an actual date. But he wasn't, so rather than bring anymore attention to the matter, he simply answered the final question that the other man had asked. "Potato, bacon and cheese soup," he said, starting to rifle through Roger's cabinets for a cutting board. "Though, I've been reminded that I have to ask how you like your bacon, since apparently burnt to a crisp is not how everyone likes theirs," he added, amusing himself with the comment.
It was a relief to have Roger sit without any more trouble than that sarcastic comment, and Marcus just rolled his eyes before beginning to look for the other things he'd need for preparing food. He still didn't quite understand Roger's explanation, but he figured that trying to get a better idea would just confuse him more, and he didn't want the other man to exert himself any more than necessary, even if it was something as simple as talking. "I suppose you'll just have to demonstrate," he commented lightly, as though the idea wasn't intriguing.
