Bryony gave a sort of half shrug in agreement. "I think people in general are improving," she agreed. Society seemed to be more accepting now, and she liked that. "But some individual people are still as bad as they ever were - and I think the fact that the world doesn't suit them anymore makes them worse." Maybe that wasn't quite true, but Bryony certainly felt like her own mother had become more intolerant and more critical since the war. Of course, that could have been down to Bryony's age and the fact that she no longer had the excuse of being just a child.
She stood, collecting her teacup and saucer. "You're welcome. I'm glad I could help a little." Inwardly, she felt a little irritation that Dean felt he needed to remind her to keep the supplies stocked - had she ever failed to do so? Did it seem like she would? She gave no indication of that feeling as she smiled. "Of course. Good luck with it."
