Admittedly, one of the nice things about coming back to the magical side of life was how much more time it allowed him. Commuting to and from work with a stop to pick up his daughter was a lot faster when he was able to literally pop in and out of places, though it had taken him a few tries to be confident in his Apparation abilities. Still, it was nice to have the extra time to do things other than just picking Sophie up, making dinner and then going almost directly to bed to wake up and do it all over again.

Case in point, he had time enough to spare after stopping by to get Sophie from his mother than they had time to wander around Flourish & Blotts before they would need to head home. As usual in any environment where there were a multitude of books, Sophie was staring at the shelves with wide eyes, her tiny fingers occasionally reaching to touch a spine or two reverently.

Bryce was mostly just watching her try to find something that would interest her, his own eyes flicking over titles briefly but not really latching onto anything. He couldn't help chuckling slightly as she stood on her tiptoes, peering at a row of books that was on a shelf taller than her own head.

"Papa, I want a book. Can I get something?" Tsveta asked, her face tilted up and hopeful as she walked backwards in front of him.

"Depends on vhat book you want to get," he told her. "Let's go look around and see if you find anything you vant." He was generally a soft touch, but he'd look to see what it was before he automatically purchased it for her. While they could afford it, he did want to teach her a certain amount o money sense.

Misha toddled along at his side, a hand holding onto his pocket as he looked around with wide dark eyes. Viktor glanced down at him, checking on him, and then back up. "Vatch it, chickno," he said, reaching out to pull Tsveta to a stop just before she ran backwards into someone. He looked at the man. "Sorry," he apologized.

Bryce glanced over his shoulder at the apology, smiling as he waved his hand and said, "No problem." He knew all too well how difficult it could be to corral a child into walking in such a way that it didn't disturb anyone else, and he only had one to chase after.

Sophie had abandoned her perusal of the books to examine the other children present, inching a little closer to Bryce and leaning around his leg to peer at the other little girl. He could feel her fingers curling around his trouser leg, not quite clinging, but a little shyer than she normally was around strangers.

"Did you find a book, Sophie?" Bryce asked, rather than calling attention to her actions. She glanced up, shaking her head, looking back at the girl again before saying to the floor, "I can't see the ones on the top." While normally this would be accompanied by a request to be picked up to see, but for now she was alternating her gaze between the newcomers and the bottom shelf of books she'd already looked over.

Tsveta looked over Sophie as well, curious. She didn't have many friends, whether her age or younger. Most of Viktor's friends didn't have children yet, or might not ever, in some cases. And it was very hard to meet people here who did have them who weren't overly intimidated by him or overly obsessed with him.

At the little girl's words, Tsveta looked up and skimmed the books she could see a little better than the girl. "I think there's one on dragons up there," she told her helpfully, smiling in a friendly fashion.

Bryce didn't interfere, knowing from experience that it was best to let his daughter handle other children on her own unless necessary. It was a lesson he'd learned long ago, from more than one session of pouting when leaving daycare or arriving at a playground.

Sophie grinned back when Tsveta spoke, and said, "I like dragons. And unicorns. And butterflies." She took a tentative step out from behind Bryce's legs, saying primly, "I'm Sophie. Who're you?"

While the two girls were establishing themselves, Bryce glanced over at the man. "My daughter may have just decided that she has a new best friend," he commented with a small smile. "We may be here for a bit. Once Sophie starts to talk, she tends to just keep going."

Viktor smiled over at the other man. "Tsveta as well, so we may well be doomed," he said, lips quirking up a little bit. "She has few friends here yet, though, so I can't begrudge it if she makes another." It was very hard to meet people in the wizarding world with age appropriate children, and though Tsveta had had muggle friends before, it was still a little iffy as she could still have uncontrolled magic, and Misha had shown small signs as well, so it was difficult.

"I'm Tsveta, and I like unicorns and butterflies too," she said. She was clearly spoken in English, but just so she also had a distinctive accent similar to Viktor's. She'd been with him long enough it took on a more Bulgarian slant than Russian, not that a lot of people would tell the diference offhand anyway.

Nodding to show his understanding, Bryce said, "Sophie spends most of her time with adults, and not very much with people her own age, or even close." Part of the reason he'd come back to the magical world was due to Sophie's first signs of magic, and even though she'd been excited for the change, it did mean she was somewhat lacking for interaction with other children.

He kept an eye on his daughter as she engaged in conversation, letting her enjoy herself without ever losing track of a single motion or step she made. "That's a pretty name," he heard her say, and then added with a glance at the young boy, "Is that your brother?"

"Same with Tsveta. Especially since she hasn't been here a year yet." Almost but not quite, and before that things had been rather sketchy. He and his mother had tried to keep her socialized, but even before that, well, she'd often traveled with the team, along with a tutor. She'd had an odd young life being Mikhail's daughter.

"Yes, this is Misha. He's my little brother," Tsveta said proudly. He'd been very firm on that matter, when Misha was born, even if his wife had not wanted it to be that way. But in his heart they were both his children,e ven if they didn't share a drop of blood. "Do you like Quidditch? I was thinking of getting another quidditch book."

Bryce nodded his agreement, saying, "We've only be here a few months, so we're both still adjusting. Me more so than her, probably." He chuckled at that, because Sophie had taken to the magical world like a duck to water, while he was still finding himself floundering every once in a while.

"That's neat. I don't have a brother. Or a sister. Just a daddy," the blonde child said with an emphatic nod of her head, glancing over briefly to look at Bryce when she mentioned him. The look Sophie gave the other girl at the word she didn't recognize had Bryce stifling a laugh under the disguise of a cough. "What's Quidditch? Is that a magic thing? I'm still learning magic things cause we didn't have it until we moved and now it's everywhere!"

Viktor smiled. "Well, if you need to be shown around anyvhere, I've gotten to know the area a bit." He still didn't have many close friends who weren't Quidditch players, but that was the hazard of being famous more than anything.

Tsveta played with the end of her blonde braid at the mention of more family. Her family was odd, she knew; she didn't have a mom at all, she'd died, and her dad had died, but she had Viktor, who was her papa now, and all of Viktor's family.

Her little jaw dropped, though, when the girl said she hadn't heard of Quidditch. She nattered off a bit of Russian before realizing it and she made the effort to think in the correct language. "Oh my God! You don't know about Quidditch!" she said. "Papa, Mister Sophie's dad, can I please please please go show her books on quidditch?" she pleaded, eyes wide and sparkling.

Returning the smile with one of his own, Bryce said, "Thanks. Right now I'm still just trying to get the hang of moving around the Ministry before attempting to learn the ins and outs of a larger area."

Sophie stared at Tsveta with undisguised interest at the foreign words, but then turned to look at her father at the question. "Yeah, Daddy, can she show me please?" she asked, a similar wide-eyed expression on her face.

Bryce shrugged and glanced at the other man before saying, "I don't mind. We can all go find the right section."

"Ve are very familiar vith the section," Viktor said almost ruefully, and with careful hands he herded the two girls and scooped his toddler up from the ground, soothing his aggravation with not being able to run after his sister with tickling fingers to the ribs.

"My daughter is a Quidditch fiend, though it runs in the family," he said, smiling as they followed the two girls. "I varn you, she will haff your daughter asking for a broom in quick order, I fear."
