RP: Late Night
Who: Cho and Finbar
What: Late night musings, maybe a little pillow talk
Where: Cho’s flat
When: Sunday June 21st
Rating: SFW

Finbar had never had trouble sleeping. The physical aspect of being a Quidditch player meant that he slept soundly at night. Well, at least the nights he hadn’t been out with his mates. But tonight, he was wide awake. Tired, yes, in the content and lazy way that spending time in bed with an amazing woman made you tired, but sleepy? Not in the least.

He wrapped his arms a little tighter around Cho, holding her closer to him as he kissed the back of her naked shoulder. The slightly salty taste of her skin against his lips had him smiling, and careful not to wake her – if she was asleep – he buried his nose in her hair and inhaled deeply. Finbar had fancied himself in love before, even married the witch who had appeared perfect for him because she was drop-dead gorgeous, and yet thinking back, he’d never felt the urge to just be with Ruby, the way he did with Cho. Not that Cho wasn’t drop-dead gorgeous, she was, and then some, but there was more to her… and not just the lack of threats and harassment if other obligations kept him from spending every waking moment with her.

In the faint light from the city, that came through the window, he watched the outline of his hand moving under the sheet as he caressed down over the warm, soft skin of Cho’s shapely hip. “What have you done to me?” he whispered, smiling against the skin of her shoulder.

Cho smiled sleepily she'd felt him move and his kiss on her shoulder but when he whispered she couldn't help but react. She replied, also in a whisper, "Didn't you know? Love potion," not quite fully awake. When she heard her own words though she rolled over a little bit to look at him, "Not to say that..." dammit, she didn't mean to say he was in love with her, but it had seemed funny to her half-asleep mind at the time.

She yawned and it stifled her chuckle, thankfully. "What are you doing awake?" Fin hadn't been the first man she'd brought to her bed, hadn't been the first man she'd attempted to date, in her adult life, but he'd certainly been the first she felt comfortable enough with to let him stay the night - to let him find a place to stay in her heart. As a teenager, that had only taught her pain, but with him, she found her fears that he'd... leave... lessening as each day and week passed.

“Oh, is that so?” Finbar smiled. He’d been Potioned against his will before. Not with a love potion, but Veritaserum, though nothing about Cho’s comment made him think that it was anything other than a joke. Apparently Cho had heard her own words differently from him, and gently he rolled her all the way until she was on her back and he could see her face fully.

“Not to say… what?” he urged softly, mesmerized by the way the shadows in the dark room changed her face to a different kind of beautiful

Cho wanted to hide under the blanket but he rolled her over and she smiled shyly. "You're gonna make me say it, yeah?" She chuckled softly. "I just meant, that by 'love potion' I don't mean you're in love with me," she laughed at herself in nervousness. She really couldn't control the way her body reacted to emotions - crying, laughing, anger, you name it, if she felt it everyone probably knew it.

She did hide under the blanket now, bringing it up to cover her embarrassed smile, but she kept her eyes on his face, mirth dancing there in the moonlight. It was so quiet in her flat, in her room, and she couldn't believe this man was lying next to her, looking down at her like he was in this moment. Why had she hidden from these sorts of feelings for so long? Why was she still afraid of them? Maybe she'd been waiting for him, but she wasn't quite sure she believed in all that.

“Oh, I am,” Finbar grinned down at Cho, amused by her reaction and astounded by what her sleepy, muttered words had stirred in him. His smile only grew warmer when she said the words she hadn’t meant to say, and though her nervousness was very obvious, he didn’t regret pushing her for them… he just hoped that one day she would lose that nervousness or at least see that she had nothing to be nervous about when it came to him.

But it didn’t stop there, apparently, and a moment later, he was looking into the only part still visible of her; a pair of mirthfully warm, dark eyes. “You’re adorable,” he told her and slowly eased the sheet down so he could see her smile. The smile on his lips sobered until he was just looking at her, his eyes filled with the warmth and admiration he felt for her. “Mean it, Babe,” he said gently. “You wouldn’t be wrong.”

When his smile changed so infinitesimally (but by miles in her eyes) to soften as he gazed at her, her eyes went a bit wider in curiosity but when he spoke, her breath caught and her look was one of surprise. "I..." her voice wasn't sleepy anymore, but was still soft, quiet in the dark room. The word came out like a breath and she made to shake her head.

Only one person outside of her family had ever said anything that to her, and they'd been silly children, she not even a legal adult in the Ministry's eyes.

Finbar wasn’t sure which reaction he had expected from Cho. Most likely he hadn’t expected anything, seeing as how he hadn’t planned this. He was, though, relatively sure that surprise hadn’t been expected, and yet he found that it didn’t bother him. Cho was still Cho, his feelings for her, he found, didn’t change just because she didn’t have the words to express her own… or even if she didn’t feel the same.

When her not saying anything turned into her looking about to object, he simply blinked slowly, the adoration in his eyes not faltering. His smile broadened for a moment, before he dipped his head and kissed her softly. “It’s alright, love,” he whispered, threading their fingers and bringing their joined hands up so he could kiss the inside of her wrist. “I’m not going anywhere, and you’d still be right.”

Laying back down next to her, he pulled her closer and wrapped his arm a little tighter around her. Maybe things were moving fast, maybe his feelings had appeared faster than what was proper, but that didn’t change them, nor did it mean that he had any less time. Quite the contrary; he had all the time in the world. With a smile, he kissed the back of her naked shoulder.
