Well,just don't mention anything you'd need to use magic to do. You can still say you're a vet, and talk about looking after dogs and cats and things. If you're eating you can use that as a good reason not to talk about the operations and whatever.
Don't mention crumple-horned anything. Or any other magical creatures.
