She tilted her head into his gentle touch as his hand framed her face. They were surrounded by the world, surrounded by hundreds, at least, of people, and yet though Melinda was aware of that, there was something so intensely private about his moment that they might as well have been in a windowless room; their own little private bubble of joy. She nodded, a sense of pride for him mixing in with the elation of being with him like this. They had won, he had achieved what he had worked so hard for with his team.

Every brush of his fingers against her hair had her blink slowly, savouring every touch, saving the memories like small treasures for her to examine when she was alone… when they were alone. She looked at him a little wonderingly when he spoke in Bulgarian, and smiled when his translation revealed that she had been correct in thinking he was thanking her. Slowly, she shook her head; Viktor had nothing to thank her for. “Thank you for inviting me here,” she smiled at him, only taking her eyes off him, when her attention was caught by the small object he held up for her to see. Melinda had seen images of Snitches, of course, but she didn’t think she’d ever seen an actual Snitch, little less one this up close. It was fascinating to see how easily and casually Viktor calmed it, and her eyes widened when he held it out to her. “Thank you.” Her tummy felt odd, deliciously odd, as she looked back up at him, her fingers closing around his and his gift for her. This was big, an amazing gesture. “Is that a Seeker thing or is this a special occasion?” she teased him gently.

In that moment, Viktor wished they were alone. He had a lot more kissing he wanted to do, especially when she was looking at him with those large and lovely eyes like that. Like he was the center of the everything, if only for a moment. He couldn't remember the last time he'd been that to anyone, aside from his children. And this was most definitely different than that.

"But of course. I vanted you here," he told her. He had; he was very glad she'd come to watch the game. To make the championships had been good enough, but to win was fantastic. He paused, her fingers against his very distracting as he tried to find the words in the appropriate language that would describe what he wanted. When he was excited or upset or anything of the sort, certain languages always tried to fly out the window on him. "It is... it is a thing," he said finally, ending up grinning at her. "It is the vinning snitch of a big game. And it is yours now." Most seekers he knew tended to keep them or have them in a team display. Viktor himself had a collection at home of some of the more meaningful ones; sometimes he would handle them and remember the games vividly. He sometimes thought that if he lost his memory of many things, these would still elicit memories of those events.

Melinda kept looking up at Viktor. Watching him looking at her, seeing him seemingly searching for words, though she had an idea of what it was he was trying to say. “It’s a thing,” she accepted with a chuckle, delighted by the grin that graced his otherwise usually serious face. “And now it’s mine. Thank you, Viktor.” She really was grateful for it. Not the actual Snitch, but the thought behind it, the gesture. Looking at it, it reminded her of one of her cakes, the Meridien… Maybe she should make that for him sometime, or make it a special before the next season… but that wasn’t important now

Slipping her fingers between Viktor’s, Melinda’s own closed around the little golden ball while Viktor was still holding her hand. “You probably have to go join your team for the medal ceremony, don’t you?” she asked, knowing that their time here was as limited as their privacy. “But… find me afterwards?”

He knew he hadn't explained it well, but that was all right. She seemed to understand, though, and perhaps he'd find the words another time, or something. So he silently beamed at her, pleased.

"Da, I should be doing that," he said, glancing around at the others around them finally. He saw a couple of grins aimed at him and didn't mind in the least. "But I vill find you and ve will go have some fun?" he suggested. He wanted to bring her, for a least a bit, to the celebration they would have now that they'd won.
