"Mmmm, don't mind if I do," he waggled his eyebrows and licked his lips, taking the offered cake with a big bite. "I'm just glad you let me spend it with you," he added, after he'd swallowed.
He'd wanted tonight to be special, not just because of her birthday, but because of the keyring he had in his pocket. True, she was welcome access to his floo, which not many people were, but that was only when it was connected, which basically meant if he was home, or knew specifically she was coming over. So he'd had a copy of his keys made, and had altered the wards to accept her as if she lived there.
It was quite the step he was excited to take, but he felt it might be too soon for asking her to give up her flat entirely (and as excited as that thought made him, it also still terrified him), but it was a good one, and in the right direction.
He thought about all of this one more time while he ate his cake and then he set it down and got up to wipe his hands in the kitchen and grabbed two flutes and the bottle of champagne Mel had sent with the basket of sweets. "A toast?" He asked, pouring for each of them before handing Lavender her glass and taking the keyring - with a mini crystal ball - out of his pocket.
"One more birthday gift," he said, holding up the keys and unsure what to say next.
