Theo tilted his head consideringly, looking down at the House Elf that itself looked down to the floor, a deadness in it's eyes that had once mirrored that in his. "You can give him a name." he said eventually, trying to figure out if doing so would have any bad repercussions but not foreseeing any. "It might take him a while to understand at it means him, but he'll come when you need him anyway." The weight of the horror of what his dad had done to their House Elves was at the end of a queue of many other horrors done to other people, but he was still quietly relieved to know that at least one Elf would enjoy the mercy of Greg's care.
Theo felt the urge to drop to the floor and sit like a dog when Greg told him to, relieved when he managed not to give in to his knee-jerk obedience and could take a seat like a normal person, perching neatly on the couch. "Oh, no, thank you." he said to the kind offer, not thirsty and still with that usual aversion to eating. He was immediately curious about the note Greg held, itching to ask but his politeness not letting him ask. He felt some of the tension leave him when Greg reassured him but he was still paranoid and still not happy about what Greg had told him earlier. "I'm so sorry that you had to put up with that at your birthday Greg." he launched into it, pretty sure that he didn't have to elaborate on what 'that' was. "It's okay for everyone else to leave high school and everything behind but-" he cut himself off before he could get wound up. "Before I forget, I got you something." he reached into his pockets and pulled out a pair of small fuse shaped charms, holding them out to Greg.
