It is, I assure you. I always walk children through how to touch and not touch the animals, and only allow them into the pens that are safe for children (some animals are a little too rambunctious). Dependent upon age, there's usually someone, either myself or a volunteer, watching them as well. But you are welcome to bring your children in to meet them and play with them. I even have some dogs you could bring to the park to play fetch with for an hour or two.
