I was a child in the 80s, I had some weird shit. But basically anything that meant relaxing my hair was a terrible idea, the chemicals do horrible shit to your head and my family is muggle so I never bothered finding the wizarding equivalent. And asymmetric anything is not good.

I'll stick to my braids now, even if they take hours.

	My mum used to cut my hair herself - and all my sisters. I had a terrible page-boy haircut that took forever to grow out. Then when I finally got to a real hairdressers I went a little crazy and decided I desperately needed chunky highlights. (I should burn all the pictures of that phase.) 	My family was basically the only black one in our community, my mum sorted my hair for years. (Not cutting, just day-to day styling.) I had a handle on it by the time I went to Hogwarts, well mostly. 	I climbed trees as a kid, used to get twigs and leaves in my hair. That didn't make me popular and did get my head near-shaved one time. Just made it easier. (Reply to this) (Parent) (Thread)
