Journal - Stacey
[Warded to Zacharias]

I think I just got a birthday party invitation for someone I've only met once. And looks.... Fancy-ish. Fancy and I are not really on the same wavelength. Please tell me you know some sort of etiquette or whatever for this kind of thing.

There's no earthly reason for it to be that complicated. None at all. That's just.... I don't even have words.

Are you gonna go?

I think it sounds more complicated than it is?

Dear Mrs Goyle,

Thank you for your invitation. I'd be happy to attend and look forward to it.

Sincerely,
Stacey Rivers

Dear Mrs Goyle,

Thank you for your invitation. I regret to inform you that I cannot attend your son's birthday party.

My sincerest regards,
Stacey Rivers

See? It just sounds complicated without examples, I guess.

I don't know, though, if I'm going. He was a prat in school, and it isn't like we're friends. But he was kind of not mean to me in my journal not that long ago so maybe for a little bit. I don't know. I haven't really decided. I don't even know why I was invited. It isn't like we're friends, and it's probably mostly all his friends. And it's sad that he's probably got more friends than I, isn't it? Are you going?

You do realize I'm just going to copy what you wrote word-for-word.

Babe, whenever have I ever not attended a party I was invited to? (And more than a few that I wasn't...)

The thought did cross my mind, and it doesn't bother me if you do.

I know, I know.

Excellent. You're the best.

At least you if you decide to go that you'll have company!

I will, yes, which is nice. I suppose there's also a chance I can tell my parents, and I can have that be an extra tick on the socialising board that they can't use against me for not going. It's a lot to consider.

All excellent points.

Also - am I going to need dress robes for this? Pretty please say no, and that I can just put on a sundress or something?

I don't think you do. It says it's a casual evening, so I think something casual but still nice would suffice.

Yay! That's exciting. Maybe I'll go shopping before this shindig. Don't worry, I won't even try and drag you along.
