Journal: Veterans

The anniversary of the battle is coming up again.

I was thinking about doing something a bit different with Battlescars. I thought it would be interesting to invite some people from the first war to speak, get their perspective on things.

The only thing is - I don't want it to be unbalanced. I know Susan's mentioned ex-Death Eaters from our war that were forced into it. Are there people from the first war who were as well? And not just tossers like Malfoy who claimed to be so they could get out of trouble. Is trying to find someone a truly terrible idea? I've got that nagging feeling I'm probably being an idiot.

Also - this time of year is hard even for people who don't regularly come to Battlescars, so I'd like a way to open it up to them, even if just for a day. But on that score I'm actually running dry for ideas. Maybe the stuff the Ministry has planned will be enough and I should stop worrying.

Merlin knows this time of year is hard enough, but I like the idea. Fuck knows how you'd go about it though.

Perhaps you could have a way for people to share their stories, fears, thoughts without having to stand in front of others. A box to have owls deliver to so that things can be shared anonymously and have a reading of those letters by previously selected individuals like at a book reading.

I like that. It would mean I could pre-read stuff as well, do by best to make sure nothing is triggering. That'd be my biggest concern with letting a former DE from the first war come in and speak.

From what I remember you all likely would have had a bit more fun a few more missing homework assignments.
