Lavender thought that she'd made the right call by coming to Cormac's last night, as well as bringing food with her so that he wouldn't have to be disturbed from his work by the thought of cooking. He'd been so used to dealing with the shop solo that hiring Lee Da had obviously thrown him a little.
She'd gone to bed before him, still tired after a few physical days at work during the week, and hadn't stirred for more than a few minutes when he had finally joined her. After sharing a couple of sleepy kisses, she'd been glad to fall back to sleep with Cormac beside her.
Now, though, the sound of Cormac sighing and then the pressure of his arm across her body roused her from light sleep. She took a moment to try and figure out what what going on or if he was still asleep; it wouldn't be the first time that she'd woken up to a little unconscious groping. But no, Cormac didn't normally feel so tense against her back when he held her in his sleep. Exhaling, she covered his hand with hers, squeezing it ever so gently.
