Who: Dean, and Seamus, and OPEN thread

Where: Finnigan's Pub
What: Dean has a shift at the pub, but a bit of an issue with names.
Rating: Potential for Language

Dean was having an awkward day. He'd very nearly called his ex-girlfriend an 'overblown French tart', which was not only a little strong, but also far from the point. Then he'd run into Braith and completely failed to use her first name at all. He had a feeling it was some sort of April Fool's prank. He hadn't worked it out until he opened his journal to see the note from WWW. He began cursing George, only he didn't because that clearly wasn't going to work. He'd ended up owling to postpone a meeting with a potential client because of how difficult he thought it might turn out to be.

He was thankful that he had an afternoon shift at the pub because frankly not calling most people by name was going to cause far less problems in a pub where he might not know people than it was in a client meeting.

As he walked down Diagon (for the exercise) he overheard several people who were clearly suffering from one issue or another. He clearly heard a somewhat familiar figure muttering "Gwenog Jones is going to kill someone for this!", and another person trying to get to describe something with a great many short words.

Pushing open the door to the pub he slipped into the back and dropped off his coat and bag before coming back to the bar.

Seamus was having a great time. He hadn't been in on the joke in advance, but he could appreciate what he suspected was George's handiwork. The kind of people who spent their Wednesday mornings and afternoons at the bar tended not to be people for whom a 12-hour speech impediment was likely to be a huge deal. He'd even managed to get Chris Wick, one of his regulars, to see the funny side when he'd had to order his cider under the name of 'apple booze'.

As usual, he kept an eye on who was coming in and out, and spotted Dean before he reached the bar. "Hey," he greeted, waving him over. "There you are. Have you heard?" He knew Dean would be suffering some condition or other, because he, Seamus and Susan had polished off one of the 'free sample' boxes together when they'd first appeared. All that remained to be seen was which it would be and how much fun Seamus could have with it.

Dean grinned at Seamus and waved vaguely. "Well, hello, Gorgeous," he said, eyes flashing with amusement and voice just a touch flirtatious to play into it. He'd actually debated what he should call Seamus, knowing full well that he could get away without saying anything, but frankly he knew Seamus would be suffering and it was the easiest way of trying to let him know what his own affliction was.

"Which thing exactly? The prank, the people complaining? Because yes to all of the above. Nearly called my ex an overblown French tart this morning," he said cheerfully, pretty sure Seamus would appreciate that one.

	Sometime after he'd arrived Dean was in charge of the bar, occasionally having to do some intricate wordplay with affected customers who were having to order in verse or some very creative single-syllable descriptions. "Hi, what can I get for you?" he asked, standing from his stool perch where he'd been doodling idly after he finished sorting glasses out. (Reply to this) (Thread)
