Journal -- Zacharias Smith
I guess one good thing about being off from work on an extended recovery vacation is I get to catch up things, like my reading. The down side is, I'm running out of things to read. I may have to revist a few old favourites. That isn't bad, though. Sometimes I just enjoy reading new things.

[Private to Hyperion]

All this reading has reminded me that I fell behind about following through with your book club thing. Or maybe you fell behind. I don't know which. Not that it matters. Does your group already know what next month's book will be by chance?

What kind of books are you looking for? Maybe we could do a swap.

At the moment, I'm enjoying Muggle fantasy novels, so I wouldn't be adverse to more of those. However, I'm not especially picky. I'll give most things a fair chance.

Good thing you like muggle books, then, I've got loads! They're not exactly 'fantasy' but Chocolat, Blackberry Wine and Five Quarters of the Orange by Joanne Harris do all have some magic in them.

What are they all about?

Well, Chocolat is about a woman who opens a chocolate shop in a village in France and has to deal with the priest who doesn't approve. Blackberry Wine is about an author who buys a house in the country so he can go write his book. Five Quarters of the Orange is about children who grow up during the German Occupation of France. They've all got lots of descriptions of food and they're quite similar in stile, but I liked Chocolat and Five Quarters of the Orange a lot.

I'm sure I could borrow Susan's an owl and send them to you, if you're laid up.

Quidditch is on the radio tomorrow. That's better than reading.

I like both. And until Quidditch is on, I'm happy to read.

Where's the fun in reading about Quidditch after it happened if you can listen to or watch the match as it's happening?

I don't You could read about old old matches, that you weren't alive to watch. Or about players who don't play anymore.

We did! I kept meaning to talk to you about it, but then I got shunted off to Azkaban for guard duty for a couple of months after a whole bunch of people got sick.

The next book is the Hobbit by J.R.R. Tolkien which is quite interesting.

I hope everyone's feeling better now.

Oh I've read that book. Interesting.

Oh, brilliant. When's the meeting? Do you show up at the beginning of the month to get people settled in with the new book and then again at the end or at the end slash beginning of the month to go over last month's book and begin the next month's/this month's book or something else? I've never been I'm not very familiar with book club structures.
