Entry tags:character: rolf scamander, character: rose zeller

Who: Rose, Rolf, and OPEN(?)
What: Observing St. Patrick’s Day. For research purposes, of course. Possibly.
Where: Finnigan’s
When: March 17, 2005 – evening’ish
Rating: TBD

So, possibly it had been Rose’s idea to get in on the treasure hunt at Finnigan’s – or at least she had been up for it the minute she had read about it – and possibly she hadn’t had a clue about where Seamus could have hidden, because aquariums? No, that she didn’t know anything about, although from Rolf and Dennis’ clue, even she could guess that it had to do with snakes, but that was it. So, she had taken their word for it that they knew where Seamus was and had gone along… and that’s when she had spotted the sparkly shamrock.

So, possibly, it had been Rose’s idea to go for a drink before they went to the zoo, but she wasn’t entirely convinced that all the other places they had visited since that first pub had been her idea. What she did know was, that when she had left the flat, she had worn black boots with her black skirt and grey skirt and her hair had been a deep, dark brown. She was also relatively certain that her lipstick had been red and that there had been no green fluttery things in her hair.

“Noroc!” she toasted as she held up her glass of beer to Rolf’s. She knew the Irish toast, but dammit if the Romanian didn’t just roll off her tongue more easily. Besides, if this Patrick truly was a saint, he wouldn’t mind a bit of Eastern European spices added to a toast in his name. Right?

Rolf really didn't mind that they'd gotten sidetracked from the competition. While he could be competitive at times, most of the time he was rather laid back. Today was one of those days, and a few green beers and other green things had him in a jaunty spirit.

He'd been sneakily and steadily charming Rose for most of the time too, making her green, and sparkly, and somehow managing not to get caught almost all the time.

"Sláinte!" he toasted back, just to be traditional. He grinned at her, contemplating if he'd missed anything he could turn green on her.

“Sláinte,” Rose purred with a grin, though instead of drinking from her beer she leaned in as close as the barstools allowed and draped one leg over his. “I love it when you talk dirty.” Which was silly, she knew that, but it was Rolf! And even something as basic as a toast in Irish sounded wicked sexy when he said it.

Biting her lip, her beer still held at the ready for a sip, she looked at him. “What are you planning?” she asked, recognising the look of mischief and genius in his eyes.

Rolf let one hand rest on the leg over his, long fingers curved both lovingly and protectively around its side. He chuckled. He was definitely feeling loose and warm with everything they'd had to drink so far. "Well then, I'll have to find more to say," he said with a warm grin.

He smiled a little wider. "Nope. Nothing here. Plotting? What plotting? We Hufflepuffs never plot!"

Rose didn’t need protection. It had been years since she had first learned to defend herself without a wand, and after she had finished Hogwarts, those skills had been honed, too. Rolf, more than anybody, knew that, so the fact that he did it, well aware that she didn’t need it, just made her love him more. They had never shied away from being affectionate in public, but their already loose attitudes towards that seemed to loosen even more with each drink that went down tonight. She winked at his comment that he needed to come up with more dirty things to say, before she licked her lips.

“We don’t?” she asked him, putting on a look of supposed confusion, far more innocent than the thoughts she had in mind. “I could have sworn…” Her eyes dance with mirth as she took a drink of her beer. “Oh well, guess I’d just imagined those plans…” Nonchalantly, she tightened her leg a little around his and innocently let her fingers trail intricate patterns on the back of his warm hand.

Rolf smirked, unable to help it. She did innocent and confused much better than he ever could. Rolf was pretty rotten at about 95% of lies. The others he'd developed for protection of himself and others. "Wellll, those plans aren't plots, precisely," he said, grinning over at her. "Those plans are a completely different thing, really."

Rolf chuckled, thumb rubbing back and forth along her thigh. Her fingers were warm on his, leaving behind a pleasant trail of tingles. He took another sip of his green drink, not remembering nor caring what it was called. He couldn't do another charm with her looking right at him, but that was all right -- she was nearly greened up anyway. He had to admit to himself, he was proud of the handiwork thus far. "You have green sparkles in your hair, by the way."

Pursing her lips slightly, Rose held Rolf’s eyes for a long moment. Then she licked her lips and tilted her head, as if in question. “So right now, I’m not plotting how to get you to let me undress you later?” she asked, her eyes still on his, though the innocence in them were slowly fading away.

Rose shifted her leg ever so slightly to give Rolf more room. On evenings like this, she still marvelled about him: In many ways he was so gentle, so innocent, almost naïve, but she also knew that he had a very different side; the fierce side that would fight to protect those he loved and what he believed in. She had seen the brutality when he fought, the determination to get back on his feet, and she had seen the almost predatory look on his face just moments before he pounced on her, either during training or right before sex. Gods, but she loved this man so much! “I do?” she asked, for once genuinely caught by surprise as she reached up and pulled a lock of her hair forward so she could see for herself. He was right; she did have green sparkles in her hair. “I do!” she trilled with a grin, laughing as she looked first down herself, then up at Rolf. “I wonder if the carpet matches the drapes…”

Rolf chuckled again, long and low. "Wellll, maybe we're not completely Hufflepuff, now are we," he said.

His fingers continued their soft, quiet stroking. It was too bad they were in public, he wanted to kiss her quite thoroughly right now. He smirked as she pulled her hair forward to look at it. He outright laughed at her next words. They were so very Rose and he loved her so very much. "Hmm, I don't know, but I could make them match." He waggled his eyebrows, looking quite smug at his success of slowly turning her green over the past hours.
