RP: A lazy night in with two injured babies
Who: Lavender & Cormac
What: Cormac brings over take out to commiserate with his sick lover.
Where: Lavender's place
When: Sunday 15 March, evening
Rating: SFW (maybe?)

Cormac picked up take away French food and a bottle of red wine to go with the steak frites. His wrist still felt funny but he figured it was just "growing pains" leftover from the skell-o-grow and ignored it for the more urgent task of seeing his lover. He made it to her place not long after dark and let himself in. "Baby?" He called, figuring she'd be resting and not wanting her to get up to greet him.

He found her on the couch and waved a hand to indicate she was not to bother getting up for him and then went to set their dinner in the kitchen and grab two wine glasses before returning to the sitting room. "Look at my beautiful girl," he greeted her softly with a kiss and obvious adoration in his eyes. He still wasn't sure when, or especially how, he had become this man - enamored with her, worried about her, giving her cute nick names, in love with her - but for the most part he'd stopped caring about the hows and the whys. Nights like this were exactly the reason, he knew.

As it turned out, Lavender had spent Friday night in St. Mungo's. She'd been unhappy when the Healer had told her that she was being kept in for observation, but in hindsight she was glad they had as she had woken up to some rather disturbing puss where the thorns had pricked her skin. Thankfully, that was all cleared up now, though her skin was still somewhat red in a few places and she felt as though she had a bad case of sunburn.

Lavender had gone back to work this morning for a short shift, though been relegated to office duties until she regained her full range of movement. It was frustrating but not the worst injury she'd had from work. If anything, it was a little bit embarrassing.

When Mac had asked if he could come over for the evening, Lavender had tidied up a bit, and then retired to the couch where she flipped through magazines and listened to the wireless until he got there. Cormac's arrival brought with it the scent of steak and she grinned to herself, almost giddy that he seemed to just know what she needed.

"Hi." One hand cupped his cheek and she smiled, pleased that he didn't seem to be any worse the wear for his accident. "You're too good to me, gorgeous. I'm so happy to see you."

"I'm happy to see you, too," he breathed, glad beyond words that she seemed alright. "I'm sorry I didn't make it into St. Mungo's to see you, but luckily your stay wasn't long enough for that. Well, if I hadn't," he shook his wrist with a wince, "I would have," he made a face.

"How are you feeling? They best have been the absolute best with you or else I don't mind smacking around kindly old Healers," he was joking, mostly. As he spoke, he opened the bottle of wine and poured them each a glass.

"How does steak sound for dinner? Rare? With thing crispy frites?" He put on an exaggerated French accent to make her laugh.

"That's okay. I'm a terrible patient, so I'd have only been grouchy with you." Gently, Lavender took his wrist, bringing it up to place a kiss on it. "Yeah, look at you trying to protect the wee bairn." For good measure, she gave him a peck on the lips.

Sighing, she sat back and waved a hand dismissively. "Yeah, I'm fine. Wasn't much for them to do aside from apply ointment and bandage me up. So boring."

Giggling, Lavender nodded. "C'est bon," she agreed, taking her glass as Cormac passed it to her. "That sounds so unbelievably perfect, you have no idea."
