Drip Drip Drop
Who: Dominic and Romilda
What: Fixing a leak
Where: Quickpulse
When: Sunday after LBB [backdated]
Rating: NSFW by virtue of being in Quickpulse, just in case

Dominic hadn’t been able to concentrate much during Sunday’s Local Business Bureau meeting, too distracted by the problem awaiting him at Quickpulse. He was young, but he’d been working as a handyman for long enough that it was rare for his spellwork to fail on him. Possibly whoever had last worked on the building had layered some spells in incorrectly, putting too much pressure on one spot of the wall, causing it to leak. Or else, as Romilda had suggested, possibly there was a curse or some kind of magical creature at work. Many of the buildings in Monument Alley had been used for ill purposes before the war and though Ministry officials had come in to clear them of dark magic, it was possible something had been missed.

It was with no small amount of relief, then, that Dominic stood at the end of the meeting, stretching his arms out behind him to ease the kink in his back before wandering over to Romilda. “Shall we go?” he asked. “I’m sure you’re as eager to get this started as I am.”

Romilda sighed, "You're a godsend," she replied. "These leaks are driving me to drink, and I don't need any more reasons that I've already got," she laughed.

As they walked down to her shop, she went over in her mind again what she'd done to prep for a visit. She'd warned Emma not to do any "side business" in the shop today - even journaling or owls - and had cleared out the leaky back storage closet the week before when the leak had started. She hoped she'd gotten everything out of the way, though.

When they arrived, she unlocked and let Dominic in. "We tried to make sure everything was out of the way. Before we even noticed the second leak we'd lost a box of edible undies to the water." She rolled her eyes. Insurance just didn't cover things like that. Showing him into the back room she asked, "Anything I can help with? Would you like coffee or anything? I've got a little kitchen in the back," she spent so much time at the shop she'd had a small 'break room' put into the very back of the building when she'd leased it.

Dominic grinned, never one to turn down a compliment. "I'll get it sorted," he promised. "Just not sure how long it'll take me. I can put a quick patch in so you can keep working, but if there's something wrong with the magic in the building... That can be tricky to fix." What he didn't say was that 'tricky' could mean Romilda might need to close up for a day or two while he worked on it. No sense in worrying her with the worst case scenario before confirming it was likely to be the case.

"It hasn't even been raining that much," he said as the walked into the shop. "It could be something as simple as the plumbing." Which probably didn't sound simple to a layperson, but was significantly easier than trying to work out which layer of magic had a fault. Focused on the job in hand, Dominic barely spared a glance at the various sex toys and fancy undergarments that they passed on their way to the back. He tended to find that a person was sufficiently interesting for him without added extras anyway.

"Tea would be great," he said, moving immediately to the storage closet, opening the doors wide and lighting the tip of his wand for better visibility. "Have you noticed anything else weird, or just the leak?"
