Grinning at Bryony's win, Marcus dismounted almost carelessly, jumping from his broom while it was still a few feet from the ground, glad that he managed to land in such a way that didn't require him to roll through the grass in an undignified manner. Not that it would much matter - she'd seen him in any and all states, so he wasn't nearly as concerned with keeping up appearances here.
"Great job," he said sincerely, proud the same way he always was whenever they flew together, knowing that he'd taught her that skill and that she'd honed it on her own. He could remember a time when this sort of thing had been the highlight of his day or week, and though things had changed, he was still grateful as ever to have her in his life. "Rakey will throw a fit if we leave without her getting a chance to try and feed us something, at the very least," he said with a small smile, nodding slightly towards the kitchen door - an unnecessary gesture, since Bryony knew the house almost as well as he did.
