"I'd like to think so," Marcus said with another small shrug. He certainly thoughts things were going fine, though he still had a lingering nervousness some days that he was somehow going to mess everything up.

Nodding at her answer, he said, "Then we'll make sure that you do." He would have to figure out what exactly that would entail, but he figured that those details could be sorted out later. He smiled slightly at the shake of her head, and then laughed lightly at the comment. "Probably not, but I've learned not to assume anything when it comes to Roger." It had just seemed important that he let Bryony know how important she still was to him, even if life had taken them in a different direction that they had always thought.
