As usual, seeing Bryony smile was a lot like standing in the sun for the first time again, the warmth of it suffusing through him, and he returned the expression with a small smile of his own. Marcus could feel a hint of a flush to his cheeks at the question, and he ran a hand through his hair absentmindedly as he said, "About a month and half." It still felt like a dream at times, that something as good as what he had with Roger couldn't possibly be real. That feeling wasn't helped by the fact that the majority of the time, he was almost crushingly aware that he had no idea what he was doing.
"Thanks," he responded, smiling at her, albeit still a little tentatively. "I don't know if you'd want to meet him, but that can be arranged if you did," he offered with a small shrug. Marcus wasn't sure how that would go, his two favorite people in the same place at the same time, but he was willing to see, if either party had any interest. His smile widened a little as he added, "You know you'll always be the queen of my heart, though, no matter what happens." The endearment was one that had been born back before the war, when their engagement had still been a sure thing, and even though things had changed, the sentiment still rang true.
