Marcus immediately smiled at Bryony's appearance, pleased as always to see her. He was a little surprised by the hug, but wrapped his arms around her without question at the gesture. Their upbringing meant that these sorts of displays of affection were few and far between, but he was always happy to provide them when needed. "Hi," he said back, the words slightly muffled by the face that his face as pressed against her hair.
Allowing her to pull away, he answered, "I'm good. How are you?" That was a far more pressing matter in his mind, with the sudden realization of the date and what that must have meant for Bryony - he'd known her sibling's birthdays for as long as he could remember, a leftover from the days when he thought their futures were always going to be intertwined.
Smiling again, Marcus nodded as he agreed, "I'm ready for some warmer weather." He too had dressed for comfort, thicker robes for protection against the chill of the air once they were free from the ground.
