Rolf had been planning for this for a bit, as secretly as possible, of course. Rose was especially keen and it always tickled him to be able to get something past her, especially a good surprise. He thought he’d succeeded, but he wasn’t certain. He’d gotten a recommendation for this place from someone he knew who was hoping to take his girlfriend there one day, and so he’d decided to give it a try.
He’d even made arrangements to get the wiggles there – the term had stuck with him, especially since he was still wary of saying the word dog too much around Rose – as well as Bast, of course, who at this point wasn’t going to leave her charges. She was especially protective of Rose’s wiggle, knowing, he was sure, that it was special to Rose, who she cared about.
The cakes were here, and the presents, and he rather thought a retreat away from everything would be a great thing. He loved going out with her, but he thought staying in and spending the time together was just the ticket this time. He hoped she agreed. This place was supposed to be beautiful, and he looked forward to spending time there with her.
