RP: Valentine's Dinner for two
Who: Chris + Dora
What: Valentine's dinner Chris' house
Where: Chris, Ben, and Bryn's place
When: 14th February, evening
Rating: SFW?

Chris liked cooking. There was something meditative about it - like building a house or tending a garden. Tonight he was making Olive-Cherry Bruschetta as a starter and Wine-Balsamic Glazed Steak for two. He hummed to himself over as he chopped olives and mushrooms and sipped a glass of bourbon on the rocks.

Wearing a simple but luxurious black sweater and nice jeans, he wasn't quite sure of what to expect from the evening, if he were honest with himself. He'd liked Dora for quite a while, and even if it wasn't his way, he found himself enjoying the time he'd spent with her over the last few months. Paris had been a delight - he'd not spent much time in Europe, when he really thought about it - and their first kiss had been... unexpected. Really, everything about her so far had been unexpected, and while Valentine's Day seemed to have a lot of pressure on it, he wasn't worried as he worked on the Balsamic glaze and waited for Dora to join him.

Dora really wasn't sure what to expect. She could honestly say that no man had ever made her dinner -- at least, not one she was kind of sort of maybe dating. She really had no clue where she stood, which was probably why she'd been quietly freaking out ever since he'd invited her. It had been unexpected -- a very pleasant thing, mind you, but unexpected.

She'd gone with the red pantsuits that Mils had gotten for her, thinking it was casual enough to pass for a dinner in while still being sexy. She had dithered and went ahead and put on a charm to erase the scars and her Mark, though he'd already seen most of her bare back and the multiple scars on it.

Okay, and maybe she wanted him to find her attractive, but that was all the adjustments she did. Everything else, except maybe the one matching red streak she'd indulged in in her hair, was real. She would admit, ever since he kissed her, she'd been thinking about it a lot. It had been the best surprise she'd had in so long.

She took one more deep breath from the bathroom where she'd been washing her hands and went back in, propping her hip against the counter and smiling at him. "I'm tempted to offer to help, but I'll be honest -- I'm not quite useless but close to it in the kitchen," she admitted.
