As was usual on special occasions, Seamus had barely had time all day to have a moment to himself. What with corralling the leprechauns, hand-writing ridiculous valentines messages and getting a special cocktail menu sorted his day - actually, his whole week - had passed by in a blur. It was seeing Emma's journal about Quickpulse that reminded him he'd been planning on getting something for Justin, who he assumed he'd be seeing later, and since they weren't a couple and didn't have romantic feelings for one another Quickpulse seemed like the best bet.

So, after the lunch rush died down at last, Seamus steeled himself to visit the shop that he'd been putting off visiting for months. He'd always intended to have a look around one day, but never quite brought himself to do so. Now, though, there were no more excuses and he did his best to walk in like it wasn't awkward at all. Other business owners of Monument Alley must come here, after all. Seamus just hoped he wouldn't run into any of them.

Once inside, Seamus genuinely didn't know where to start. His experience with sex toys was exclusively muggle - and wasn't exactly broad at that. He had what he needed and didn't really talk about or share it with anyone. There was no way he had time to go all the way to muggle London today, though, and it was about time he explored what the wizarding world had to offer.

Today was Valentine's Day and Emma was working for another hour or so before going home to get ready for tonight's 'date' with a client that she had seen a few times before. According to Romilda, he wanted to wine her and dine her. As far as Emma was concerned, that most likely meant that he was definitely expecting a blowjob later; she was happy to provide.

In the meantime, it looked as though there was a new customer to help. There was no such thing as a typical customer at Quickpulse. In the few years that Emma had been working here, she had seen all sorts come through the doors and she liked to think that she had been able to assist them all. Even she had been a novice once upon a time, after all.

She observed discreetly for a moment, repositioning a couple bottles of lube that were on display on the counter (buy one get one free all weekend!). Obviously she knew who the landlord of the only pub in Monument Alley was, but she didn't think she had seen him in here before. Slipping out from behind the counter, Emma smiled brightly. "Good afternoon. Can I be of any help at all?"

Seamus gave a sheepish smile back, trying to pretend he hadn't served this girl drinks several times. Maybe he should have bought polyjuice. "Uh. Yeah. I need something for a -" He paused as it suddenly dawned on him that if explaining his situation with Justin to Dean and Susan was difficult, explaining it to a stranger was going to be practically impossible. "I don't want something really romantic, but something we could maybe use?" He knew he was blushing and really wished he could make it stop.

Glancing at the various things on display again, Seamus had to admit he didn't know where to begin without help. He didn't even know if Justin already owned or used sex toys, which suddenly seemed like information he should have.

"Something... sexy and fun?" Emma smiled a smile that made her look almost innocent beneath her halo of blonde curls. "I think we can find something."

The tamer, more mainstream toys were kept near the front of the shop. Mostly so that things like the dildo that was easily the same size as Emma's forearm didn't scare any customers away. Since she had worked here, Emma had never sold anything that big and she suspected that her bestie just kept it in stock because it was kind of hilarious. They'd actually given it a name: Pedro.

"Now," she said, walking over to a display, "we put this little selection together for Valentine's Day. I think they're all good for people who maybe haven't used things like this before. I can recommend some butt plugs, too. We've got some great lubes in at the moment, too. Always important." Emma looked at him expectantly. "Do you want me to leave you to browse a bit."

"Yeah," Seamus agreed, forcing himself to keep his head up. Emma had to be used to having this kind of conversation so there was no real reason to be embarrassed. That said, Seamus kind of wished he'd just come with Justin so that he'd have someone else to talk to... No use for it now, though. He gave a short chuckle. "Lube we have plenty of. Those muggle warming ones always seemed like a bad idea waiting to happen, though..."

His eyes scanned the available selection - mentally discarding anything red or pink, even though they probably came in other colours. It was all just too Valentine's Day. Which shouldn't have been a surprise, given the day. Seamus was actually amazed the shop wasn't busier, but maybe everyone else was just more organised than he was. "I guess I'm looking for something he won't already have?" he said, sounding as uncertain as he felt. The shop's wares should have been exciting - but Seamus was mostly finding the experience daunting. He wondered if that was because he wasn't used to sharing his sex life with strangers, or because Valentine's Day was putting too much pressure on... Maybe he should just pretend to be shopping for himself. "What would you recommend for a guy on his own?" he asked.

Emma laughed. "We have lubes that tingle and do all sorts of things. No such thing as too much lube."

She adopted her sweetest, most Hufflepuff persona. He seemed to be having difficulty and if she wanted to make a sale, there was absolutely no point putting any pressure on him. "I would suggest nothing too complicated," she said carefully. "Especially if you don't want to be worrying about charms or spells in the middle of everything." She pursed her lips, thinking. "Well, I do always think the plugs are great. Or we have some toys that are supposed to feel like a real mouth... Or there's some toys that add texture." Emma smiled encouragingly. "It's a very individual thing, of course."
