Charlie rolled his eyes. "Business sense means I should play to a whole range of shit I'm not necessarily a fan of, luckily I can also do things I am a fan of."

"Thanks, man. Usually I've got it covered," he said, scanning titles of some fantasy books without too much interest. "Or the security staff have, but it's always good to have official backup," he said. There had been a few instances of the staff having to call DMLE in when the rule breaking tipped over into distinctly illegal. "Yeah?" he said, taking the book and flipping it to have a look at he blurb. His reading habits were a bit sporadic. He'd read a lot of the classics because of what they were, but aside from that mysteries were often an excellent bet to avoid the unwanted romance sub-plot. He'd not heard of the author before but the book looked interesting. He flipped to the front and searched for the first page of the book.

He was scanning the first few paragraphs when Hyperion spoke again. "I've always skipped it in the past, I'll probably do the same this year apart from the work thing," he said. "This looks good, not an author I've read before. Have you?" He'd read some translations from Romanian when he was living over there, but not from... he wasn't even sure what language the author might have written in given their name.
