“Mini-mes?” Alicia chuckled, her eyes still on Adrian’s as he came across the room for her. “Don’t let them hear you say that. They’re both staunchly claiming to be nothing like anybody else, little less their twin and even more so their mum. But, I’ll have you know that you’re impatiently awaited by this blond,” she made a small gesture to herself, “and highly sought after by the menaces upstairs. I guarantee you, that within the next minute or two, one of them will peep through that door to ask when you’ll be here. It’s been like clockwork since noon.”
Burrowing closer to him, she shared her blanket so they were both under it and smiled into his kiss. “I’m freezing,” she grouched good-naturedly. “It’s like nowhere is warm enough, and I think that I’m hours away from melding with his blanket.” A small click from the opposite end of the room had her look over just in time to see Isla’s dark brown eyes peep through the crack. When it closed, she looked at Adrian. “See?” she barely managed before Isla was bellowing in the hallway: “HE’S HERE!!”
Moments later, she could hear fast footsteps on the stairs, worrying a little that Liam was moving too fast for his own good, but nothing seemed to go wrong, because shortly after that the Two Blond Terrors came barrelling through the reception room, launching themselves at Alicia and Adrian. “You came!” Liam informed him, while Isla’s attention was caught by the pizza and ice cream. “What did you bring? Did you bring dinner? Mum said you’d bring dinner! Is that ice cream? Can we have ice cream?”
