"I'm sorry I missed it," he apologized quietly, even though he thought that Bryony would be rather understanding of his absence. He would have much rather have been there than stuck in the manor with his mother. Nodding his understanding, Marcus commented, "Quiet can be good." Merlin knew he could certainly use some these days, and though he was itching to get back on a broom and a training regimen, it was probably for the best that he didn't have Quidditch to over-complicate things at the moment.
Once everything was served, he sat down across from Bryony, smiling at the mention of mention of her canvas. "I'm sure you'll figure it out," he said reassuringly, because he was at least certain of that. Marcus was ridiculously proud that she'd followed her dreams, at least in regards to her artwork, and while he'd never been anything of supportive, he couldn't find a way to express that, so he just added, "I'll be excited to see it when it's done."
