RP: Dinner with a friend
Who: Bryony and Marcus
What: Reunion dinner
Where: Marcus' flat
When: Saturday, January 17th 2005, evening
Rating: SFW

Even after his extended absence, his flat felt far more like a home than anywhere else Marcus had ever lived. He supposed it had to do with the fact that he controlled the space, had made it his own in such a way that he hadn't been able to do elsewhere. For the first time in months he was actually able to relax, and could feel the tension slowly bleeding out of his muscles the longer he was inside the place he'd claimed for himself.

He'd finished cooking a little earlier than expected, the food waiting in the kitchen with a warming charm for Bryony's arrival, and left Marcus without anything to occupy his mind. It was a conscious effort not to pace, and instead he found himself standing by the window of the den, staring out over the street below, arms crossed over his chest. The view hadn't changed while he'd been gone, though his mind was far from what his eyes were seeing, cycling through all the same things he'd been trying to avoid thinking of but seemed unable to escape. The sooner Bryony arrived, the better, since her mere presence was usually enough to bring him out of these sorts of moods.
