Honestly, people, why would you attempt to Untransfigure when you don't know what the original object is? Just leave it to the professionals who can handle transfiguring without object knowledge.

For those of you thinking 'I could do that' let me give you a little hint: if you didn't pass NEWTs with an O (sorry, an E doesn't cut it) and you don't have any further training, you are not bloody qualified to try.

I had been enjoying my Saturday night.

now I need a stiff drink.

It is terribly unfortunate that incompetence and overconfidence are found in so many areas. Though I do not completely blame the individuals as there were far too many Professors at school that created doubt in students' minds as to what extent their education was required in order to do certain work. Some were excellent, of course, but others did not engender sufficient trust in the faculty as a whole (meaning, of course, most of the more temporary professors that passed through Hogwart' halls, though Professor Lupin was a refreshing exception).

When in doubt, a good aged Ogden's firewhiskey tends to cure the day's ills.

This was a great deal of incompetence and arrogance. The offender was a good deal older than you or I, though I don't think McGonagall instils either of those values in anyone. Some people are just going to be morons.

So many ills, not enough firewhiskey.

I haven't forgotten about your cross-stitch sampler by the way. These things just take time.

Age does not wisdom make. I do hope, however, that the person in question doesn't work in my department. That would be very concerning.

That's why quidditch, sugar quills, and massage charms were invented. On the worst days, I enjoy all three at the same time to get my mind off of everything. Sometimes I swear a good massage charm is worth ten Ogden's.

Oh, I have complete and utter faith in your ability to come through. I do hope to have it before Christmas, though - that would be when it would be put to its greatest use.

Oh, if they had, you'd know already, so I could gleefully watch yet another hilarious public shaming.

A massage sounds fantastic. Do you have a recommendation?

Not a worry - you should have it by September's end.

Ah, but if I were in too great a habit of doing so, then I would be too predictable (more so than usual) - I find the element of surprise makes the public shaming much more effective.

I find the rates at Hardd Knut quite reasonable and the spells are of excellent quality - I allow myself one session a month to help relieve stress.

Quite kind of you.

Now where is the fun in that? The fun for me, I mean. Here I had been thinking your Department was in tip-top shape, and now you tell me this might not be so? Pity.

Thank you, I'll have to book an appointment.

It gives me something to do, and it's terribly funny to boot.

Oh, please don't confuse lack of public shaming with a department that is less than tip-top shape - I believe I have a reputation to maintain as the most difficult employer to please, and I would hate to have that reputation ruined. And while it doesn't provide the same entertainment value, private shaming is just as effective.

We all need hobbies, yes? Perhaps I'll have to arrange for a photograph to be taken when my brothers take their first glimpse - I'm certain it will provide you with much entertainment.

Effective < fun.

That would be hilarious. Too bad Fred can't gape in horror as well.

Perhaps we need to find another source of entertainment in the absence of an incident of public shaming. Surely there must be something else that amuses you as much or more?

Oh, and what ideas did you have for that?

Perhaps we could meet for a drink and I could tell you some of the more interesting Untransfigurations I've had to do.

Perhaps we could as I would enjoy hearing about them, and we could also use the opportunity to chat about finding you that source of entertainment.

Would tomorrow evening be convenient for you?

Tomorrow evening would be lovely. Finnigan's? Around 7?

I've had some people come into the shop with the strangest magical maladies because of this line of thinking... Can I send them your way from now on? Most of them have been too embarrassed to take my suggestion of going to St. Mungos!

You can, but with the caveat that I will take out an ad in the Prophet detailing the exact nature of their situation. They really should go to Mungo's, and Mungo's will call us if they can't handle it.

Oh no darling don't be so hasty. People would be coming to you for a certain about I discretion that can't be guaranteed walking into hospital. Surely we can work something out?

They would have to pay handsomely for discretion to be guaranteed.

If that's where you were going for working something out, then a trip to your shop is in order so we can discuss arrangements.
