Slowly, with a pensive smile, Alicia shook her head. “Not really,” she said softly, looking up to meet Adrian’s eyes. “I may have visited a lot of places, but I haven’t explored them, not like you have.” Which was alright, really. She had travelled pretty much her entire life, in the winter time to indulge in a hobby that wasn’t as readily available in Britain as it was in other places in Europe, and in the summer time to spend time with her family and relax away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. She had never been in any of those place for any significant amount of time, not like Adrian had, and she hoped that maybe one day she could try that too.
“The Caribbean, really?” Alicia smirked and shook her head. “I’ll believe that when I see it, but only if it really is better than Fuerteventura.” The moment Adrian sighed, she knew. She knew that sigh and she knew that their time was up, for now at least. “Yeah,” she agreed, though she sent him a small smirk. “Not really sorry I pulled you away from that, though.”
She had just pulled out her purse and was about to find the money when Adrian stopped her. For a moment, all she could do was look at him, a soft smile on her lips as she took in the laugh lines at the corners of his eyes and the way his smile lit up his face. “All right,” she finally said and put her purse away again. “But then the first paying round is on me tonight.”
