He cocked his head and gave her a cheeky grin, "Maybe I met a bird at the bar last night, you don't know. You always assume, you know." Truth was, he never minded Alicia's visits - she and her kids were were his entire social life, besides random one night stands and meeting up with his old teammate Blaise to talk sports and women. She had become his best friend - oddly enough, and yes he knew it was odd - since she'd come banging on his door complaining about the smell in the building. There was something about how riled up she was, it had caught him off guard and he'd had to stifle a laugh, something he didn't do often (not genuinely, anyway). Ever since then she and her children had completely needled their ways into his life, and he didn't mind one bit, as much as he may protest. Appearances and all.
Giving up on the test of wills and hardly able to keep a straight face (as if he'd meet a woman the night before and still be with her at lunchtime), he rolled his eyes. "Alright then, since it's your treat. Where am I escorting you?" He turned away and moved back toward his bedroom to grab loafers to put on along with the khaki shorts and loose button up. Turning behind him he gestured for her to follow. "How are the kids?" He asked as he sat on his bed to slip on the shoes. He hadn't seen them in a bit, being so entrenched in summer potions this time of year.
