Go Go Appleby!
Who: Seamus, Susan & Dean
What: Listening to the Quidditch
Where: Seamus's flat
When: Saturday afternoon
Rating: Bad language.

After a surprisingly busy lunch shift, Seamus raced up to his flat to make sure everything was ready for Susan and Dean. Despite how little time he seemed to spend there, it always managed to get messy. He had a bad habit of dropping wet towels wherever he happened to be when he decided he was dry, and his socks and shoes rarely made it to the bedroom. A few of his mam's best tidying charms, though, and everything was clean and presentable - not that Susan would have cared, and Dean certainly wouldn't have done.

A wave of his wand tuned the wireless to the right station, pre-match coverage had already started so all Seamus had to do now was wait. There was some of Dean's lasagne left for dinner, still under it's chilling and preserving charms until it was needed and there was (as usual) a wide variety of juices and mildly alcoholic beverages. He kicked off his shoes in the kitchen, somewhat ruining all his hard work, and mixed himself a Virgin Mary.

"Heart attacks are good. Very good, especially for men who break young girls hearts," Susan said, with a hint of savagery in her voice as she stabbed viciously at her lasagne. "I do like the idea of Braithe coming along though - she's so lovely, but I bet she could be scary if she wanted to be." Eying Dean's meek return to boring pasta eating with a contemptuous snort, Susan defiantly continued to eat her lasagne her own weird way.

She rolled her eyes at Seamus' obvious attempt to get her to loose The Bet, and merely clapped Dean's excellent catching. "Must we throw napkins at the table, children," she asked archly. "We love you too, by the way."

"I am very good at freeing people from oppressive work schedules," she agreed, taking a long sip of her drink. "It's one of my talents, wouldn't you say?"

Seamus opened his mouth to suggest that Susan was overreacting, then shut it again when she stabbed at her plate. Sometimes it was too easy to forget what she had been through, she hid it away much better than Seamus or Dean. "Braith is terrifying," he said instead, sipping at his drink. "I don't think she likes me."

He honestly hadn't been trying to trip Susan up (that time) but he gave Dean a warm smile nonetheless. "That's why I say it so often," he lied. The truth was that he said it without thinking. It would never occur to him not to say it - even when that got him weird looks from guys he was dating. "And I know you do, Susie. Sure you wouldn't put up with me otherwise."

He nodded, well pleased with their nebulous plan to 'free' Justin from his work. "You try, but we're very stubborn."

"I've told you, Braith likes you just fine. She just thinks you distract me or something. Blatantly not true, but I can't convince her. Sorry," he pouted pathetically at Seamus and gave him his best puppydog eyes.

He was about to mention that the garlic bread might be done, but then he realised that going down to the kitchen again right now might not be the best plan and he held his tongue. Instead he just focussed on eating his lasagne. Finishing quickly he picked up his wand and summoned the desserts.

"I didn't try these, you know, I hope they turned out okay," he said, picking up a lemon cookie. A least they looked okay, not burnt or anything. He bit into it and chewed thoughtfully for a second, then smiled slightly.

Susan rolled her eyes at the pair of them. "Braithe likes me though, which is weird as I probably come and actually legitimately distract you than Mr. Curlyhead, Esq. here." She shrugged delicately, taking a another bite of lasagne. "No accounting for taste I suppose."

She watched Dean and Seamus smile at one another like the lovesick idiots they were, and forcibly shut down her impulse to tell them to shag their brains out. "Put up with you," she asked instead with an airy laugh. "More like you put up with me!" She took a last bite of her lasagne, and summoned more plates for the desserts, casting a cooling charm on them.

"You didn't even try them," Susan asked, quirking an eyebrow, and taking one with carefully hidden trepidation. It wasn't that she didn't love Dean's cooking, it was more his propensity to occasionally add more esoteric elements. She bit into it and then smiled. "They taste fine to me, dear."
