RP: Sunday Brunch in Paris
Who: Dora and Chris

What: Brunch

Where: Paris, France

When: Sunday December 14

Rating: SFW, will change it changes

Pandora sipped at her strong dark coffee, hands wrapped around the mug. A small smile played around her lips as she glanced around. She felt more relaxed than she had in quite a while, especially after that rather too-public melt down she’d had at the gallery. She knew word of it hadn’t really gotten around – Orla had saved her from that – but she knew. Besides, things had been rougher since then, sleep and work-wise. She’d put all her energy into training with Richard, and her work, socializing a little less than normal and pretending things were fine.

Tristan knew the truth, though. They both had their nightmares, and the couch had seen much of the two late in the night, being quietly comforting.

But she’d felt more relaxed, being away from England. Being amidst friends and not working twelve to sixteen hours a day to keep herself busy. Shopping with Millicent and hanging out; hanging out with Chris; exploring Paris again on her own when she wasn’t with anyone else. It was just the distraction she’d needed, and she didn’t even let uncertainties plague her thoughts for now. Those would come back soon enough.

Though she still kept her Mark glamoured or covered when around Chris. It wasn’t something she was ready to drop just yet.

Her eyes finished their sweep of the room – both for pleasure and automatic for danger, something she didn’t lose even here – and landed back on her companion. She gave him a smile over the rim of her mug. “So how are you enjoying Paris?” she asked.

Chris returned Dora's smile - she seemed happy here, which he appreciated - and replied, "It's different. I spent so many years in the Americas, I forgot how beautiful Europe is." He shrugged, it was a little weird being the odd man out in the wizarding world in the UK, or at least feeling like the odd man out.

"And you? How was your shopping trip? Christmas all set?" Chris didn't have many people to buy gifts for - his parents, his aunt and uncle, his cousin, but that was it, really, and they were all muggles accept for Andie, which made things a little easier for him. He only had his cousin left to buy for, before he'd even come on the weekend away.

"Europe is gorgeous. I almost chose Austria instead, but Paris has its charms and I know most people would prefer it," she said. "I've never spent any real time in the Americas, so I cannot really compare? Though some of the pictures I've seen are very pretty. But the old world charm of Europe has always held me." The pureblood in her, perhaps, and the old world traditions that came with a family that could trace its roots back to pre-Roman times if you looked hard enough.

"Shopping with Mils was fabulous, and I've hit up a few other places. I'll do a little more the next few days, before I have to head back to the shop and finish up the hard and fast things that need to be done before Christmas." Work work work, the best distraction for life there was. "But most of my presents have been bought. A few need a charm or two, and they'll be ready. What about you? Are you enjoying everything? Bought any presents?"

Never one to pass up an opportunity to be a charmer, Chris seized on her mention of more travel, "Austria would be fun, I don't think I've ever been. My Mom's American, and her family's there, so always spent time on the East Coast there or working in the west and in Mexico. If you ever want to visit, just say the word, there are some cities there I know better than the back of my hand."

He thought on what gifts he'd gotten already. "Well most of my family is muggle, so they're easy enough. I went to an internet cafe in London and ordered things to be sent to them before Christmas. The only one I'm having trouble with is Andie, my cousin. She's a witch, firstly, and she's also 13 now. What does a 13 year old American witch want?" It hadn't occurred to him to ask Dora for advice - being that she had been a 13 year old witch at one point - but the moment the rhetorical question came out of his mouth he lit up. "Wait a minute," he said, "really, what would a 13 year old witch want for Christmas?"

"I've traveled a lot in Europe, a bit as a kid, and a bit these last few years on rhe dueling circuit'. The best of it is around Europe," she told him. "Paris here, she and I are old friends. We came here on family vacations growing up." She sipped her coffee idly. Lots of memories, but none of them thr hard ones like back home. "That would be nice sometime. I've always enjoyed travel."

She still boggled that most of his family were muggle. It was as foreign to her as ... well she didn't really know what. Dora grinned slowly at him, tilting her head in consideration."Welllll," she drawled. "Tell me what kind of girl she is, and i think i could help you out. I might not be thirteen anymore, but I'm not so old as I've forgotten it either."
