Dora looped her arm companionably through Mils’. “Gods but it’s good to get away,” she told her friend as they walked down the Paris street. She felt lighter, being out of England for a change. Something always drew her back, for some reason, but getting away and with friends at that was a great thing. It made her feel a bit freer and less constrained. Most people here didn’t know her, her history, the tattoo on her arm.

“I don’t know about you, darling, but I really needed a break. And some shopping – Christmas and otherwise. It’s been ages since I did more than buy for work and such.” Granted, she had a few very nice work outfits, for the security stuff Richard brought her out on and in preparation for more of the above. She liked those, but most of her fancy stuff was stuff she’d had for years, and transfigured (very nicely) many times in clever fashions to keep up appearances.

“And a bonus, I get to hang out with you some. We’ve both been so busy lately,” she said. “It’s nice to get some girl time in for a change.”
