"Very true," Marcus agreed with a slight nod. He was dumb struck for a moment by the mental image that the final part of that statement conjured in his brain, and then cleared his throat as he forced himself not to think about it. "Well, I hope you were successful at least," he said after a moment, hearing the slightest bit of strain in his voice as he spoke.
He had no idea why Roger was blushing, since all he'd done was make an honest observation. "You are," he added, feeling that the confirmation was necessary. "Being confident in your abilities is a key part of becoming a better player."
A laugh escaped him unexpected, and although he felt a little bad about saying anything bad about a teammate, Marcus couldn't help replying, "You're not wrong about that."
Marcus had long been accustomed to being the tallest person in any room, so it was strange to have to look up at anyone, let along Roger, who was almost at eye level with him when they were on even ground. "Sure," he answered with a slight nod of his head, and then, because his manners required it and he was actually grateful for the offer, added, "Thank you."
