Ernie had worked the last Sunday, which meant that he had a weekday off for once to run some errands. With Christmas right around the corner, he had quite a few people to shop for, but it was one of the more fun errands around. He didn't mind going around, wondering what his friends would and wouldn't like, and stopping to fetch some ingredients for those who had certain favourite foods that he knew how to make.
The day off wasn't the only reason for the spring in his step, though, nor was it the seasonal decor or chill in the air (yes, though Ernie loved nothing more than to curl up inside where it was warm, it was still nice to walk outside when there was just a bit of chill to remind him that winter was on its way). As he stepped into Finnigan's, pulled at the scarf that was wrapped around his neck and looked around, he spotted Theodore in what he'd privately come to think of as their spot, in The Nook. His face warmed with something other than the indoor heat and spread to his chest. This was the other reason why he was so jolly this season.
"Hey there," he said, leaning against the door jamb of the small area, his hands tucking into his jacket pockets (and taking care not to jostle the miniaturized packages he'd placed in an inner pocket). He smiled down at Theodore. "I hope you weren't waiting long."
