Journal - Christmas is heading this way
And I have very much to do, it feels like, before it gets here. Tradition has always been important to my family, even when we had little enough to share.

I find I will miss the koledari coming by the house. Things are not the same here, though I know there are carolers.

I am inviting my family here, though, even if I do not know who all will be able to get away for several days. Now that we have all technically grown up, family seems much more scattered.

And I have to finish shopping for the children, of course. Tsveta will not be too hard, I think, but Misha? I know he might not remember this Christmas, being so young, but that does not let me slack off for him. We will see. I will have to make time for shopping the next couple of weeks.

Misha's 2, right?

At 2, I gave the twins a wooden toy train set and building blocks, which they loved (and still plays with, on occasion), and then I'd found some clothes that were all wrapped individually in shiny, colourful wrapping with big bows and other fun things - that wrapping was a huge success!

Not 2 yet, almost 1 and a half.

Oh, a train set might be the thing. I thought I saw one of the Hogwarts Express a while back. And colorful wrapping -- good to remember, thank you.

Ah, well, a train set and building blocks would still be good, just keep it simple, because those small, chubby fingers? Yeah, I'm sure I don't have to tell you how many places they can go and how many details they can pick off of everything, right?

But at that age, I would definitely put more effort into the wrapping than the actual gift, because that is what will hold his attention.

Get caught in doors, and hair, and every little bit, yes. And ink. Oh the ink.

Thank you for the advice. It is very appreciated.
