Journal - Christmas is heading this way
And I have very much to do, it feels like, before it gets here. Tradition has always been important to my family, even when we had little enough to share.

I find I will miss the koledari coming by the house. Things are not the same here, though I know there are carolers.

I am inviting my family here, though, even if I do not know who all will be able to get away for several days. Now that we have all technically grown up, family seems much more scattered.

And I have to finish shopping for the children, of course. Tsveta will not be too hard, I think, but Misha? I know he might not remember this Christmas, being so young, but that does not let me slack off for him. We will see. I will have to make time for shopping the next couple of weeks.

He might not remember his first few Christmases, but you can always take lots of photos! And children his age seem to like interactive toys. I've got baby cousins who love anything with varying textures that they can play with, like toys with shapes to put into appropriate holes, stacking cups and blocks, light up and noise making and singing toys, and riding toys to scoot around on. One even has a portable ball pit to play in. And they seem to also enjoy fun bath toys and books with big, bright pictures.

I don't mean to overstep, of course! Just trying to help.

Oh yes, I am a photo taker when it comes to them. I'm sure it will embarrass them dreadfully someday, but what is the fun of being a parent if you can't do that sometimes, da?

I am always open to suggestions for things for them, really. While I was around when Tsveta was little, I was not her primary caregiver like I am with Misha now, so I am still learning many things. He might get a little charmed scooting pony or something. Next year he might be big enough for the tiniest version of a broom. He already wishes to use his sister's and we won't let him.
