Where: The Roost, Finnigan's
When: Wednesday, 26 November, 2004.
Rating: SFW so far

Vikesh had mentioned that he was giving meditation and yoga lessons at Finnigan's, and Tristan was curious to investigate, both because they sounded intriguing and because he wanted to see an old friend. He found out the times and dates of the lessons, even if it'd taken him about a week to actually show up for one. But Tristan didn't go in. He saw how a few witches and wizards were dressed, and he realised his dark green wizarding robes were likely not suitable attire. And his nerves also got the better of him, so he decided to wait downstairs in what was apparently called The Corner, perusing the bookcase before picking up a few interesting sounding books. Then he sat down with a view of the common room to keep an eye out for when the people he'd seen earlier came down from the -- the Roost, was it? -- from the Roost. At least this way, he wouldn't be interrupting anything, and he also wouldn't be holding up the class by trying to talk with an old friend.

Tristan watched a group of wizards and witches file through the common room, and he noticed they all wore similar garments. They were the ones he'd seen earlier. Although he sat up, he waited until it seemed like all of them were gone before casually making his way up to the next floor. He carefully peered into the room, then pulled back as he saw someone lingering. He assumed the lingering woman was trying to flirt with Vikesh given what he saw of her posture and facial expression. He couldn't blame her for trying, and he grinned to himself, quickly pulling up a book to pretend to be reading it when she walked out of the room.

And then it was just Tristan and his nerves with nothing to buffer them or excuse why he couldn't enter. He tucked his newly acquired books into his robes, closed his eyes, and inhaled. He counted to five, then exhaled and opened his eyes. You can do this, he said, smoothing out the front of his robes. He put on a friendly but small smile and walked into the room, making his way toward Vikesh.

"Hi," he said when he was a few feet away, stopping to give a polite (and safe) distance between himself and Vee. In the back of his mind, he thought about how, annoyingly, Vee was still handsome. Insecurity coursed through him as he thought about his own looks, about how the past few years hadn't been as kind to him. However, he didn't let that insecurity show, even if he couldn't help thinking about how skinny he was and how much he'd fucked up any chances he had to have a decent future, a decent life.
